Ordered the two specials they have on that day. The first dish which is biscuits with gravy was amazing. You can choose your choice of protein (bacon, sausage, or chorizo) and we went with sausage. First of all, the biscuits were flaky, crumbly, and moist; topped with creamy gravy that had cubed bacon in it. I’m hoping that they will add their biscuits to their permanent menu.The second special dish is similar to one of their regular menu, the only diff is the protein that comes with it. This special comes with chorizo; meanwhile, the regular southern eggs benedict comes with grilled corned beef. The combination of chorizo, brioche, crispy potato cakes, poached eggs, and chipotle hollandaise was fabulous.

We came to this cafe for some breakfast, and it was pretty much full, so you can expect some wait times in the morning. The service was very mediocre, to be honest. The waitress was completely indifferent and quite inattentive. The food was not really good, and for the most part too spicy. The coffee that was brought to the table was cold, so had to be replaced. And overall, we didn’t have that great of an experience.

We are from the south and were having a really hard time finding my husband a legit shrimp po boy. We ordered a shrimp po boy, a catfish po boy, cup of gumbo and the banana bread pudding. The gumbo was very good (has some heat) and the po boys were solid. My husband said it was the best po boy he’s had so far in CA (of course still not quite the same as from the south). Considering this was take out and sustained a 20 min car ride, I’m sure it would have been even better at the restaurant.The vibe was cozy retro diner. It was busy but not a madhouse for a Friday night. Kid friendly too. Patio also had a fun vibe. While I was waiting to pick up the order the bartender was super nice and gave me a water while I waited. The whole staff was very friendly.We’ll definitely be back to try the dine-in experience.

The BEST food.....I've had the meatloaf and blackened catfish with collard greens...A++++ Service? A+++++ They have the best people working there...from the minute you walk in, you are greeted warmly. The servers are the best! They make you feel so welcome, and they take care of you...anticipating your needs....wait, how did my drink get filled up? Haha. I look forward to going there for the food and seeing the very warm/kind people that work there.
First off the atmosphere is exactly what you will find in alocal southern cafe, a little funky and worn, but that ispart of the charm. The food was excellent and the servicewas great.
