I had a terrible experience here for a Rewind Day Party. The staff allowed someone to bring in a dog, which was later taken off its leash and started running wild around the club. On top of that, I was treated very strangely. The woman at the door acted like she couldn’t believe I was coming in, and once inside, security repeatedly asked me to move from open spaces where I was sitting—even at the bar—for no clear reason.
Things escalated when the same woman who brought in the dog ended up assaulting a man, and my friend was nearly hit with glass during the incident. The only reason I stayed at all was because my friend had traveled a long way to meet me here, as we’re both new to California.
It’s also worth noting that diversity here seems very one-sided when it comes to non-Black POC, which added to the uncomfortable environment.

First time here was looking forward to it. Very disappointed when using the ladies room a couple cut in front of us. We notified the security that the couple went to the bathroom attendant and offered him some amount of money and let them use the restroom before even after we told the couple that their was a line. As a woman there is always a line and the fact that this couple had the audacity to cut in front is and the bathroom attendant allowed it. It was so disrespectful. Not sure I will go back after being so disrespected. If I knew I could offer the attendant some money to allow me to use the restroom.

I usually go on Wednesday nights and random weekends. Wednesdays are chill with a band playing some smooth rnb it’s free to get in and they offer a complementary glass of champagne when you walk in. On weekends it’s a club and the table/ bottle service is extremely well priced compared to other clubs in OC!

Food was great, service was great. However, while we were dancing on the dance floor, I stepped on a pocket knife. I spoke to one of the security guards, and allegedly they pat down for guns only, not for knives. Beware! Enter at your own risk.

Cool place and prefer any night but Wednesday night. Pass on the recurring jazz band in Wednesday.

Used to love the place as it was a nice alternative upscale place vs the tons of dive bars in CM/NPB (not a knock, I love me a good dive bar). However, this place now turns into club thug around midnight. If you are into typical ghetto DJ music and clientele, then this place is for you. It still can be ok up to about 10:30 but goes down hill fast after that. Don't be fooled by the nice cars in valet.
Our server was Amy and she was amazing!! Great personality and phenomenal service! We had a wonderful time. The drinks and food were fantastic! We have friends we want to bring along next time we come back.

Super crowded.
I had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a hospitality venue. I showed up to Mesa for a friend’s engagement party—a once-in-a-lifetime celebration—only to be denied entry because I was wearing shorts. Yes, shorts. Not torn, not athletic—just clean, tailored shorts, in the middle of a warm Southern California evening.
There was no clear dress code communicated when the reservation was made, nor was any warning given ahead of time. To turn someone away for this—especially for such an important event—is not just poor hospitality, it’s ridiculously out of touch. The staff showed zero flexibility or understanding, and the entire situation felt more about ego than class.
If you’re looking for a place with pretentious policies, poor customer service, and no sense of occasion, Mesa is the place for you. Otherwise, take your business somewhere that actually understands what the hospitality industry is supposed to be about: making people feel welcome, not judged at the door.
Shameful.
Was there for a birthday party. Service poor/ security service sucks/drinks overpriced/ place overcrowded/ bottle service overpriced. 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎Not recommended this place at all.
I made this reservation randomly cause the food photos looked amazing, and let me tell you it was AMAZING! Our server was so attentive all through dinner, and all of a sudden it turned into this night club. We were allowed to stay at our table until the reserved party checked in and ,for lack of better words, the bouncer created a path for us to go to a very crowded bar, where he also had them make room! I was blown away by everything this place was. The steak was phenomenal as well as the cheese board we ordered as an appetizer for the table! If I ever come back to this area I will definitely come back here!
Came by to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Honestly, this place used to be hip but those days are long gone. The music and the crowd feel a little too District these days, IYKYK.
Drinks are still solid though of course credit is given where it’s due. The staff? Kinda acting like they’re guarding national secrets. Can’t sit here, can’t stand there…mind you, the place was practically empty while they were bossing people around. Like, relax. It’s Costa Mesa, not some exclusive Vegas lounge.
