Used to love the place as it was a nice alternative upscale place vs the tons of dive bars in CM/NPB (not a knock, I love me a good dive bar). However, this place now turns into club thug around midnight. If you are into typical ghetto DJ music and clientele, then this place is for you. It still can be ok up to about 10:30 but goes down hill fast after that. Don't be fooled by the nice cars in valet.

Our server was Amy and she was amazing!! Great personality and phenomenal service! We had a wonderful time. The drinks and food were fantastic! We have friends we want to bring along next time we come back.

Super crowded.

I had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a hospitality venue. I showed up to Mesa for a friend’s engagement party—a once-in-a-lifetime celebration—only to be denied entry because I was wearing shorts. Yes, shorts. Not torn, not athletic—just clean, tailored shorts, in the middle of a warm Southern California evening.

There was no clear dress code communicated when the reservation was made, nor was any warning given ahead of time. To turn someone away for this—especially for such an important event—is not just poor hospitality, it’s ridiculously out of touch. The staff showed zero flexibility or understanding, and the entire situation felt more about ego than class.

If you’re looking for a place with pretentious policies, poor customer service, and no sense of occasion, Mesa is the place for you. Otherwise, take your business somewhere that actually understands what the hospitality industry is supposed to be about: making people feel welcome, not judged at the door.

Shameful.

Came by to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Honestly, this place used to be hip but those days are long gone. The music and the crowd feel a little too District these days, IYKYK.

Drinks are still solid though of course credit is given where it’s due. The staff? Kinda acting like they’re guarding national secrets. Can’t sit here, can’t stand there…mind you, the place was practically empty while they were bossing people around. Like, relax. It’s Costa Mesa, not some exclusive Vegas lounge.

Someone stole my phone here they’ve been harassing me since I called Mesa since my phone pinged there last and they said a lot of people got their phone stolen and that they haven’t found any so if you go make sure you have your belongings super tight on you triple zipped, and locked because it’s super ghetto and super crowded and it looks like people take stealing phones there seriously!

Went for my 21st birthday! It was a Saturday night. I Went at midnight and even though it was January 4th the place was packed. I’m completely new to town and had to guess where to go and I’m glad I picked this one.

there was a line at the time I got there (midnight) but it didn’t take crazy long, they were also letting people skip the line and go straight in 20$ per person.

Music was good, I listen to a lot of rap and r&b, they play the popular mainstream songs. The played a lot of Kendrick, latto, sza, etc. when I was there.

Drinks are like 10-16$ish. So like 30-50 per person depending how many drinks you get. They also had a smoking area inside in the front

atmosphere was nice, pretty lighting, tables available for reservations I believe, the layout kind of reminds me of a house party in a way, couches around. There’s no dance floor, lots of people were dancing but not everyone, which was nice because I can’t dance lol.

I saw lots of ages around but would guess most people were late twenties

Came for NYE- DJ sucked . Payed $$ for bottle service and it felt as i was at some underground rap hall.
Service was great . Security was amazing .
DJ sucked bad. Played some awful music and was not versatile in music choices .
Probably will never come back.
Not how one should end the year after spending $$$ money !

Great weekday crowd and super friendly front staff. We got a bit carried away drinking & dancing, but the security was awesome—they didn’t kick us out, just made sure we were safe and didn’t bump into anyone. They were just doing their jobs. Definitely coming back next time with more friends!

The female workers told my group who paid for a section and 2 rounds of bottles that we had to leave. All we were doing were sitting and chatting. Not to mention, the workers are stuck up. Managment could be better. It is not diverse at all.crazily overpriced

I have not been here but you should not post that you have a vibrant atmosphere and live DJ DAILY if you are only open Wednesday thru Saturday AND only after 6pm. "Nightly" would be more forgiveable but still, it is "the 32 hours we are open;" not "Daily" or even "Nightly."

On Vacation

I went for a Thursday event, great atmosphere. But I think they should put lights were it says mesa, cause I couldn't tell which building it was. Add ice coffee too.
