Americans might have accidentally achieved a European vibe in Costa Mesa.

Yes, expensive. Service so slow. The ham and cheese melt was 2 slices of lunch meat! The $8 cucumber salad was too sweet as well as the lemonade. The outside deck was lovely.

It’s always a civilized experience at Milligram. Great drinks and food, and the ambience and table service is lovely, even for just a coffee. Specifically great: flat white with macadamia, avocado toast, burrata, orange wines.

I had not been here before. I think it's my new go-to place to meet friends. The environment was tranquil with beautiful sounds and visuals. The food and coffee were fresh and delicious.

The best part was the service. Our server, Emma, was knowledgeable and super friendly. I will definitely be back to hear her suggestions of what to order, and to sit under the trees and hear the fountain.

I come to this café often, but this is my first time leaving a review. Their ciabatta sandwiches and coffee are especially delicious. The seating is outdoors, but the tables and chairs are often dirty. It would be perfect if they could just pay a bit more attention to keeping them clean.

TLDR; Don’t come here if you’re in a rush for a solid coffee/latte.

I’ve been coming to this coffee shop on and off for the last two years, and unfortunately, I’ve consistently had a bad experience, both with takeaway and dining in.

On the takeaway side, the drink prep is always painfully slow. It doesn’t seem to matter how busy they are. Today, for example, there was no line and only a handful of people in the shop, and it still took eight minutes to make a single drink. That kind of wait would make sense during a rush, but not when the place is nearly empty. On top of that, the drinks are consistently lukewarm, over-frothed, and just not made well. It often feels like the baristas are still in training.

When I dine in, service is just as frustrating. Even with very few customers, it takes a long time to get drinks or food. It’s confusing… If the delay with takeaway is because they’re prioritizing dine-in, then why is dine-in also so slow? The food itself is actually pretty good, but if you’re with a group (even just three or four people), the dishes rarely come out at the same time, which makes for an awkward meal.

Overall, this place has potential, but the service has been consistently underwhelming. I keep hoping it’ll improve, but so far it hasn’t.

Emma and Emily made our experience all the more fabulous! They are the sweetest and gave us great recommendations, such as the Hugo Spritz and the dips with delicious bread! We also had the charcuterie, garlic fries, baked brie, and an affogato. Oh my....everything was so good! The ambiance under the trees is divine and I just wanted to hang out there all day! My 2 daughters and I will be back for sure! This place is a hidden gem!! Eveything was superb!!
