Why is the WiFi so bad here? Constantly cuts out for minutes at a time, makes it impossible to actually get work done here unless you have a hotspot.
EDIT: Wifi is much better now :) (does get warm though!)
Wonderful hidden hipster gem in Costa Mesa! A must-go for sure! David was awesome - great customer service!!
Great place! Very vibey, good coffee, great for studying or a date. But it is always quite full, have had to leave bcs there’s no where to seat. Worth taking the chance tho! 🍵 Love the matcha
As a long time patron of Moongoat coffee in Laguna Beach, I happened to be in Costa Mesa when I decided to go to one of my favorite coffee shops on May 28 around 1 pm. . (Dine in) While I ordered my usual matcha with strawberry foam, my best friend ordered the same and a slice of banana bread. Everything was great but we soon regretted our decision to go to this location. When my friend heard her order being called, she picked up a cup; unfortunately because her name sounded similar to the one being called, she accidentally took the wrong order. Upon realizing her honest mistake, she immediately went to the young barista (a young lady) and apologized profusely. To our dismay, the girl appeared irritated, made a rude remark and was not happy. (Mind you it was not busy). We then waited for the banana bread when the same girl looked at us and in an irritated tone said “what are you all waiting for?” We said “our banana bread” after we already paid. The barista then remarked again to our surprise having not been told before “it’s sold out. Do you want a refund or something else?” And then brushed us off to the other barista, a young man who was very kind. Needless to say, we will not be returning and would like an explanation from the store or company if this sales clerk is having personal issues or the reason behind her rude behavior. I am certain this is not the way your company would like to be represented. Thank you.
One word: B-O-U-G-I-E!
Lovely little coffee shop (awesome name/ branding to boot)! Pricing was fairly competitive. ($10 for a large.) The latte was wonderful. Service was splendid. Staff was welcoming and friendly as can be. Atmosphere was peaceful and very stereotypically coffee-shopish (not a complaint). Lots of seating and it's really cozy inside. I went on a Saturday morning and while it was busy, the service was actually quite expeditious. They have really neat trinkets and cups and gear and such too (albeit hella expensive). But again, bougie 👏 af. Regardless, I'd go back if in the area and I recommend you try them out too. ☕
Drove up to find out there really is nowhere to park except for some valet, valet! I’m not going to give someone my keys to park my car and then have to tip some motherfers for coffee, even if it’s the best coffee in OC, outrageous, seriously! People have lost their mind.
No handles!!!! Nice bathroom. Good vibes. No blenders. NO. HANDLES!!!
Great place, food and of course espresso
BUT, the parking is absolutely ridiculous.
Ps, the people who work here are wonderful.
Stopped in with the lady for some coffee and reading, ended up getting avocado toast and the moongoat griddle along side some coffee. The griddle was fantastic, best breakfast item of the year for me. Service was great and the whole place was lively with people studying, reading, and conversing. Great spot

This is my current favorite coffee shop and roaster. Beans are always roasted fresh and has the roast day marked on the bag/tin. Dark Side of the Moongoat is always stocked at home. The staff are super nice and knowledgeable. The food is excellent, the avocado toast and smoked salmon bagel are my go to orders when I'm staying for food. In addition to fresh roasted coffee they also sell various things for making coffee as well as matcha and various merch. The place has pretty cool atmosphere. WiFi password available on request.
Vegetarian options: You can ask for no meat on anything, stuff like avocado toast has bacon but only with the deluxe, breakfast sandwich also is an additional charge for meat, there's also the parfait and overnight oats. Meat is pretty easily avoided for a majority of the menu.
Parking: Parking lot is a decent size, has some time limited ones in the front and a larger lot of you're staying around. The larger lot has free valet on Saturday mornings but sometimes they'll just point you where to park. Lot can fill up when busy but I've never had much difficulty finding a spot most of the time.

Voted #1 coffee spot a couple years back and the standards have not changed. This place is top tier for last minute assignments you need to finish with an unheard of atmosphere. Come on the weekends for brunch and your taste buds will not know what hit them.

Moon Goat is as close to perfect as a coffee shop can be. My daughter and I go here every time we’re in Costa Mesa. She’s a barista and takes her coffee very seriously. Moon Goat’s coffee is exceptional (even the decaf—definitely grab a bag or two) and the house made chai is outstanding—full of spice and not overly sweet.
Even more of a surprise is the food. Food is so often an afterthought in even really good coffee shops; at Moon Goat, the food it worth a trip even if you’re not drinking coffee. Highly recommend the deluxe avocado toast—I never order avocado toast anywhere else because why pay $15 for something you can make for $2 at home?—but here is comes with thick cut bacon and a perfect jammy egg, plus arugula, tomatoes, balsamic, and olive oil. The salmon bagel is excellent as well but very filling. This time we tried the peach ricotta toast and it was a perfect balance—sweet, savory, crunchy, creamy.
Most surprising of all? The parking—ample free valet parking on site (but please do tip the valet, he takes Venmo if you don’t have cash).
