Stopped in with the lady for some coffee and reading, ended up getting avocado toast and the moongoat griddle along side some coffee. The griddle was fantastic, best breakfast item of the year for me. Service was great and the whole place was lively with people studying, reading, and conversing. Great spot

This is my current favorite coffee shop and roaster. Beans are always roasted fresh and has the roast day marked on the bag/tin. Dark Side of the Moongoat is always stocked at home. The staff are super nice and knowledgeable. The food is excellent, the avocado toast and smoked salmon bagel are my go to orders when I'm staying for food. In addition to fresh roasted coffee they also sell various things for making coffee as well as matcha and various merch. The place has pretty cool atmosphere. WiFi password available on request.

Vegetarian options: You can ask for no meat on anything, stuff like avocado toast has bacon but only with the deluxe, breakfast sandwich also is an additional charge for meat, there's also the parfait and overnight oats. Meat is pretty easily avoided for a majority of the menu.

Parking: Parking lot is a decent size, has some time limited ones in the front and a larger lot of you're staying around. The larger lot has free valet on Saturday mornings but sometimes they'll just point you where to park. Lot can fill up when busy but I've never had much difficulty finding a spot most of the time.

Voted #1 coffee spot a couple years back and the standards have not changed. This place is top tier for last minute assignments you need to finish with an unheard of atmosphere. Come on the weekends for brunch and your taste buds will not know what hit them.

Moon Goat is as close to perfect as a coffee shop can be. My daughter and I go here every time we’re in Costa Mesa. She’s a barista and takes her coffee very seriously. Moon Goat’s coffee is exceptional (even the decaf—definitely grab a bag or two) and the house made chai is outstanding—full of spice and not overly sweet.

Even more of a surprise is the food. Food is so often an afterthought in even really good coffee shops; at Moon Goat, the food it worth a trip even if you’re not drinking coffee. Highly recommend the deluxe avocado toast—I never order avocado toast anywhere else because why pay $15 for something you can make for $2 at home?—but here is comes with thick cut bacon and a perfect jammy egg, plus arugula, tomatoes, balsamic, and olive oil. The salmon bagel is excellent as well but very filling. This time we tried the peach ricotta toast and it was a perfect balance—sweet, savory, crunchy, creamy.

Most surprising of all? The parking—ample free valet parking on site (but please do tip the valet, he takes Venmo if you don’t have cash).

Coffee was only so so and the egg sandwich I had was flavorless. Other coffee drinks and food for our party was well received so possible that I just chose poorly. The place was packed when we left so quite popular. I don't need to return but others clearly will.

This place is dope. Guy at the counter casually talked me through the history of their matcha and the store while taking my order. And of course the coffee was on point.

The coffee is wonderful. You can tell it’s quality-roasted, specialty coffee. I went multiple times and got cold brew, americano, and drip. 3 different ways of brewing and all delicious. If you get the drip in one of their ‘for here’ mugs, you get a dollar off your next refill—pretty sweet. I did not try the food, but looks good.

The space is large with lots of seating available. Staff is kind and helpful. Decently busy on a Saturday morning.

Now my only bone to pick: they don’t offer wifi on the weekend. Only on the weekend. I am trying to come at this from a very understanding perspective, but I am nonetheless perplexed. Maybe they just don’t have the bandwidth, and that’s fair. Another explanation could be that they have high customer volume on the weekends and try to discourage customers from staying extended hours with the purchase of a single $5 beverage. Maybe, but that seems kind of pointless, since many people just hotspot internet connectivity to their laptops anyways. Others sit reading books for hours. It’s especially strange to me that they disable their wifi access on the weekend (from what I understand). I am not a business owner, clearly.

All in all, they have great coffee. Worth coming to.

I had a fizzy iced matcha drink of some sort. It was super refreshing and would definitely come back for it on a summer day. I love their vibe, it’s so relaxing and spacious. Tons of different kinds of seating, indoor and outdoor. But best of all, their coffee is great. Will be coming back!
