I think this is currently my favorite restaurant. Here's what I like to get: the tuna donburi bowl, an order of lambchops, a light lager, and a banana pudding. I could eat here every day! What I like about it is the laid back atmosphere, the freshness of the food, the giant bear mural, the communal table that create a slight possibility you might eat near strangers (rarely happens but the risk is fun!), and the bar in the back makes pretty good drinks too.

This restaurant is basically japanese tapas!! Has been my favorite restaurant for years!! Food can get a little pricey but it’s perfect for celebrations. I personally LOVE the cucumber salad, seared himachi, and steak skewers but I couldn’t name a single bad thing on the menu. By now i’ve been atleast 12 times and tried over 80% of the menu and have loved every last thing. I always try to bring other groups of people so we can order more things to try.
Great tasting food.

Easily one of the best bars in Orange County. The food is excellent and the bartenders are friendly and creative. Worth sitting in the bar in the back, the vibes are much nicer than in the front of the restaurant.

The closing time was 11pm and we came in at 9:30pm, we came all the way from lax to try this place out but they said it’s their last call already!!! We had to leave!! If your last call is at 9:30pm then please don’t post your closing time at 11pm so people won’t be disappointed and wasting their valuable times!!!! Not coming and not giving them a try ever again!

I’ll start this by saying the staff are all very nice. However, if you had the expectation of getting refined dishes in a high-end restaurant, you might be disappointed. The flavors just weren’t there. There was an excessive amount of shiitake mushrooms in virtually every dish we ordered. We got there right at 5 PM on opening and after being seated, the weight staff or talking loudly amongst themselves using profanity. Basically there’s no fine dining atmosphere. Sadly I will not be returning.

Interesting speakeasy in Costa Mesa with amazing drinks!
I tried:
1. Shishito sour
2. Smokey tokey - toki whiskey old fashion
3. Ice cream
The food is so good and unique in many ways. I love some of the grilled items like lamb chops but I’m obsessed with the garlic noodles with giant shrimp. The pot stickers and brussel sprouts are also delicious. I appreciate the larger space (more seats) and speakeasy bar side. Servers are nice, they have a real cocktail menu and select wine choices. Everyone I bring here loves it.
Parking: The lot can get busy at dinner time. Overflow at Wells Fargo.
