I don't know why there isn't a long line out in front of this restaurant every night. It is a small restaurant in a location that is slightly off the restaurant beaten path. But it is Onotria, the same owner and chef as the previous iteration of Onotria that has been one of the most highly regarded restaurants in Orange County - and definitely on of the best Italian restaurants in the county for many years. The original Onotria took a hiatus for a few years but is back now in its new location with excellent food - perhaps now a little more innovative and modern. The service also excellent with a little more warmth and attentiveness thrown in, perhaps a consequence of the small venue. There were four of us, we all sampled each other's food and all agreed that it was outstanding as was the service. It's great to have Onotria back. It's definitely one of the "must try " Italian restaurants in The OC.

Food was amazing. I had the fish soup, partner had fish with beans, both sooooo good! A great wine list too, and the zucchini blossoms were amazing. Really nice dinner, and a friendly family from Naples owns the place. Great dinner, make a reservation and you won't be disappointed!

I can't believe I haven't been to this place or the original Onotria that used to be on Bristol Street. I was searching Yelp for wine and food pairing and I read the few reviews here. Skeptical at first, as reservations is by calling the restaurant. Once we got that done, we were set. This was in a complex on red hill. We circled the area and finally found this darling restaurant. It's owner and daughter at the front feels like they are welcoming you to their home. We had a wonderful time and you can't go wrong with any selection from their menu. The best part is they are knowledgeable about their wine that the pairing was spot on. I also learned ice wine and that's what I ordered for my dessert. This was my favorite find for the year. Highly recommend.
