PEOPLE WITH ALLERGIES BEWARE!!!!!!!
Absolutely horrible experience. This business shows a complete disregard for people with allergies. While they make an effort to label vegetarian and gluten-free options, there is zero information provided about nuts on the menu — which is unacceptable considering how severe nut allergies can be.
I ordered the avocado toast assuming it was safe, only to find out after eating it that it contained pine nuts. This nearly sent me into anaphylactic shock. When I asked an employee beforehand if it had nuts, they said no. I had to insist they check with a manager, and only then did they confirm it did.
To make matters worse, the manager showed no real concern about what happened. Instead of apologizing or acknowledging the severity of the situation, they actually said, “The toast is very delicious — it’s a shame you can’t eat it.” That kind of response is not only insensitive, it’s downright insulting after such a frightening experience.
This lack of transparency and training could easily cost someone their life. If you have any food allergies, stay far away from this place.

I visited this restaurant last Saturday for brunch with a friend and had an unexpectedly uncomfortable experience with our waitress. Right from the start, she offered mimosas despite me being visibly pregnant, and after we politely declined, she kept asking intrusive questions about my pregnancy, including my due date and even the zodiac sign of my baby. She also repeatedly asked for my own birthdate, which felt totally inappropriate and irrelevant to our meal.
When we asked for the check, she asked us again if we wanted mimosas, making the situation even more awkward. Throughout our visit, she shared personal stories about her and her mother, stories we didn’t ask to hear and frankly weren’t interested in, as we were trying to enjoy a relaxing brunch.
Finally, when we were leaving, she pointed at my belly and said “Good luck” and then added “because you’ll need it.” This felt like a very strange and unnecessary comment, unprofessional and unsettling, especially for a customer who’s already been made to feel uncomfortable by repeated personal questions.
I understand that some servers like to be friendly, but this was way beyond normal conversation. I hope the management can remind their staff to respect guests’ boundaries and avoid overly personal remarks. We left a 20% tip because it was automatically selected, but this experience really wasn’t pleasant.
The food was good though.

Visited Outpost Kitchen in Costa Mesa on May 4th, 2025, and enjoyed a relaxed brunch atmosphere with friendly service and fresh ingredients. I tried the Bam Bam Breakfast Burrito, which was flavorful and satisfying—definitely a solid option, though it came with just a small cabbage salad on the side, so the overall value felt a bit modest. Still, the quality and vibe made for a pleasant experience, and I'd be happy to return to explore more of the menu.
Also what’s brunch without a draft beer? Reasonable choices at $8 a glass!

This place is excellent. The food is amazing and has really an innovative twist on traditional dishes. Heirloom burrata toast, Aussie scramble, or brekkie sandwich—all amazing dishes. They use a really unique chorizo that is so good on some dishes. I’ve tried a bunch of different menu items and I love everything. The wait staff is sooo cool I don’t know how they find them. Great place all around.

I like the food but the tipping is out of control. I went to pick up a sandwich to go and they had the tips screen already set up to 20%. It’s embarrassing for them to do such a thing.

Very overpriced for the type of food. I understand organic and quality products but I can name ten other restaurants with just as great of a quality and $20/entree price range (Breakfast Republic, Snooze An AM Eatery, Poached Neighborhood Kitchen, EggBred, Eatchow, Toast Kitchen & Bakery, etc).
Also the staff customer service upon pick-up is just NOT THERE. They're rarely busy when I pick-up for our corporate office weekly breakfast at 8AMish and I think I once saw the manager (gave that type of energy) and she just saw at her laptop the whole time, no interaction to assert a friendly customer service environment. I don't need a red carpet but its all about service and quality and my order wasn't ready or close to ready and instead of helping her staff or acknowledging the situation in any way. I think I once actually met the owner, a man with black hair and facial hair features, he provided a great first impression, that was the reason to return, but then the few times after I was over it. Again, waayyy better places.
Parking: There are a few corporate buildings and business in the same lot so parking can be scarce

Staying at the South Coast Westin hotel, I walked over to the mall for lunch and found the Outpost Kitchen.
It is a decent mall eatery with a relatively healthy lunch menu that includes fresh ingredients and reasonable portions.
The bar and cocktail menu caught my eye but it was too early in the day for me and I had a lot of things I needed to get done for the afternoon, otherwise I would've given it a try.

I loved our food. My wife and I had our breakfast here and we ordered steak and scrambled eggs. It was fresh and the taste was good. We also loved atmosphere and service. If I am spelling her name right, Mikaila, a friendly lady with blonde hair was our server.

It was a place where I went with my friends on the weekend and I enjoyed it very much. Since we are a group that mostly enjoys brunch, this place satisfied us greatly. I loved the freshly squeezed juices. The presentation of the plates was very colorful and appealing to the eye.

My friend’s bday brunch. She enjoyed it. Service was pleasant. Parking was pretty good the time of the day we went. My friend parked at nearby parking with parking validation from restaurant.
