Remember to count your change and check your receipts here!!! I paid for two bowls of ramen and they charged me for a third bowel and gave me wrong amount of change. I was missing 45$! The good is amazing but the new worker did not know how to make a proper transaction. Never going back to this location

Santouka Ramen is hands down one of the best ramen spots you’ll find inside Mitsuwa Marketplace. Their signature Shio Ramen with Toroniku pork cheek is simply outstanding—rich, creamy broth that’s perfectly balanced and never overwhelming, paired with chewy noodles cooked just right. The Toroniku pork is unbelievably tender and flavorful, melting in your mouth with every bite.

What I love most is that the ramen is not spicy, making it a comforting bowl that everyone in the family can enjoy. Portions are generous, and if you grab the combo with a rice bowl on the side, it feels like a complete, satisfying meal. The Takoyaki was also delicious—crispy on the outside, soft inside, and topped with the perfect sauce and bonito flakes, making it the perfect side dish to the ramen.

The consistency here is impressive—every visit tastes just as good as the last. If you’re at Mitsuwa and craving authentic Japanese ramen, Santouka is a must-try, five-star experience.

I’ve visited this grocery store several times (out of towner and only visit Cali once a year), but this is my first time trying Hokkaido Ramen. I kept my expectations low, since this is located in a food court, but I was surprised by the layer of flavors I could taste in this bowl of spicy ramen. By the way, THIS is the regular size, so I’m so glad I didn’t get the large size.

I liked that the toppings were served separately from the noodles and the broth. I could either dunk them in the soup before my bite, or eat them as is. The half boiled egg was soooo good with the spicy soup though!!! My tummy is so satisfied!

Granted it was a Saturday in the middle of the lunch rush, the wait was only 10 minutes. I’m so glad I made the right choice. FYI I was given a buzzer so I didn’t mind that my seat was on the opposite side of the food court.

Tried the shio combo with the salmon rice bowl and left kinda underwhelmed.

Shio Ramen Combo: Maybe?
The ramen portion was tiny and the broth felt a little too light. Not bad, just didn’t have that depth or richness I was hoping for.

Salmon Rice Bowl: Maybe
Enjoyable but pretty standard. Nothing really stood out about it. Just a basic salmon bowl that gets the job done.

For $23, it really didn’t feel worth it. Not bad quality, just not something I’d come back for.

Why the pork in the ramen so hard? It used to be tender before.
No quality control

Looks exactly like I was in Japanese restaurant. Delicious food, and worth the money. I recommend the Toroniku Spicy Shio Ramen.

This place is added to my go to ramen restaurants. I ordered spicy miso, and it was a bit salty for me but still very delicious! I forgot what my family ordered, but I think 1 of them ordered the Tonkotsu, though I still think spicy miso was the best option. The line and waiting are not that bad. The only problem is if you go as a group of 4+ people during busy hours like dinner time, it might be a bit difficult to find a parking and seating spot. The staff is really nice and friendly.
Overall, would recommend trying this place if you like ramen!

The Toroniku was delicious, and the spicy broth was just right for me (although others might find it too spicy)
I ordered a medium bowl, and it was more than enough to keep me full. Conveniently located inside Mitsuwa Marketplace, there are a few stores + the market to explore after.

The ramen here is really good. The food court is always crowded especially during weekends and it is a little tricky to get a table. But the food is all worth it.

It’s worth the long line to get this ramen. Our family favorite is the miso ramen. The rice bowls are also good
