Really a nice range of food selections considering it being a pretty intimate place. Oysters were on point - be sure to take advantage of the Happy Hour specials!

Been to Shuck many times over the years. Always fresh and tasty oysters. On this visit, the selection was very limited and one unfortunate person was serving, bussing, shucking, and cooking. Eventually other workers showed up but I'd probably avoid the mid-afternoon lull (~2:30 PM) in the future.

Despite oysters are really fresh, customer service is non-existed.
Shuck was our favorite spot for oysters and clam chowder, we always recommend this place to our friends, unfortunately, the servers seem to prioritize chatting with their friends the most now, I notice it happened to other customers too.
Sadly, it went down hill and we are not coming back.

Quality food. Kitchen is good and fast. Service staff are slow and look unhappy to be there.

Maybe raise prices and hire staff with hustle.

One of the most refreshing and consistent oyster bars in all of Southern California. The quality of their oysters and clams are unmatched and the grilled octopus is something that you must try at least once. To have such a phenomenal selection of fresh shellfish, as well as sensational customer service every time you walk in the door is truly a rare combo, yet my favorite oyster joint pulls it off flawlessly every time. Cheers to you team Shuck šŸ„‚

My friend suggested their oysters with champagne, and octopus to share. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite, swallow, and sip.
Their tacos are also very tasty.

The oysters were good but the lobster was terrible. So dry, the worst I’ve had. I spent $30 on the lobster roll and took one bite. Waitress was on her phone the whole time and we didn’t even get our drinks refilled at all.

Lobster was dry and gross, food came out separately 10 minutes apart for 4 people, portions are small. Wasn’t offered a refill on any of our waters until we asked when we were getting our check and the waitress was on her phone the whole time. Not worth the price whatsoever, portions were also small.

I don’t ever write reviews. It’s not really my style, but I had to after the embarrassment and anger I felt tonight. My boyfriend and I have always loved coming here. We would recommend it to every person we met, but unfortunately after a horrible experience tonight, we won’t be coming back. One of the servers (we’ve always seen her behind the bar) and her two friends were sitting at the bar. When we came in, she told us to wait 15-20 minutes so she could clean the table. The table for two was already set up and open, but we were glad to give them that extra time. We came back after 20 minutes at around 7:10. The table was so sticky that when I attempted to remove the menu, the leather backing peeled up and left some behind on the table. I had to pry the little oval plate up from the table to move it. It wasn’t even this part that made me upset. It was the comments and the stares and giggling from the server’s friends from the bar as we waited to get served. Initially, I thought it was in my head. But like clockwork, every 30 seconds, they’d turn around to look at us. It’s hard to miss when someone turns fully around to stare at you across the room. Then I heard the server go to her friends ā€œit’s last call in 10 minutesā€ to which her female friend laughs and says ā€œ10 minutes, oh my god, really?ā€ obviously amused that we will only get to order within this short timeframe. The server responses in an annoyed tone ā€œyeah, what do you want me to do? We close at 8pm and you come now? Otherwise, I’d have to leave at 9pmā€ very clearly upset that my boyfriend and I were getting seated at this time. Mind you, we would have been served earlier had they just seated us when we arrived. At this point, im infuriated. I’ve been to this establishment every month at least once or twice a month for a year. We bring friends and family because we love the freshness and variety of the oysters. I even had my birthday dinner there, but obviously comments were made and I don’t even want to know what was said for the giggles and looks to have occurred. There have been some other incidents of bad service from this exact server. I knew she didn’t like us, but we always came for the oysters not her. Sorry we were loyal customers. We never got waters or anything. The other younger waitress that served us did nothing wrong, but it sucks that we will never come back to a place that was once our favorite. Tonight made me feel like we were in highschool again. And judging from the other reviews I’ve read, it seems like this is a pattern of behavior.

It's partially owner's fault. But, a server says many guests '' 30 minutes wait' in a harsh way'. It used to be a great place, so I feel sad because oysters are very fresh.

We visited on Tuesday night (9/30/25) and unfortunately will never return. While the food was very good, the service was absolutely unacceptable.

From the moment we walked in with a party of seven, it was clear our server was not interested in helping us. She seemed more focused on chatting with her friends at the bar and scrolling on her phone. We sat at our table for about 10 minutes before she finally came over to take our order. The restaurant wasn’t busy, just us, her friends, and party of 2 ladies, yet the level of service we received was appalling.

At one point, a gentleman came in and asked for a drink, but the server told him it was ā€œlast callā€ at 7:30pm, even though the restaurant is open until 9pm. When he questioned her, she doubled down and then told him service would be ā€œreally slowā€ if she did serve him. He explained he had just flown in and driven straight there, but instead of helping, she walked out of the restaurant and sat in her car crying, leaving the place without a functioning server.

Meanwhile, five of our seven entrees arrived, but the other two never came. We waited nearly 20 minutes with no explanation. Eventually, the server’s friends, one of whom even admitted she didn’t work there, were bussing tables just to keep things moving. The other 2 items eventually came, but the damage was done. When we finally got our check, there was an unexplained $35 service fee, which we couldn’t dispute because the only server had abandoned her job.

We left a cash tip for the people who actually tried to help, paid the bill, and left. The owners may want to consider promoting this particular server to ā€œcustomer,ā€ since she clearly prefers hanging out with her friends over doing her job. Sadly, we will not be back.

The best. I was overwhelmed with the choices, and I asked that they load me up with some options. They took care of us, and they provided a wine pairing. Solid 10 out of 10 experience. Thank you!
