There are multiple flavors of ice creams: vegan and gluten free. Additionally, they offer a tiny scoop to try the flavor. I love the double chocolate flavor.

I don't even like ice cream, it's one of my least favorite desserts. But you know what? I was HUMBLED. Stella Jean is THAT girl!!! Not to be the person that's like "sweet but not too sweet", but the ice cream here is truly that. I tried the Ube Pandesal, Mango Sticky Rice, and seasonal Earl Grey Tea Cake, and they all popped off. Rich, creamy, fun (you get the pandesal and rice element in the respective flavors) -- but without being grossly saccharine. We stan Stella!!!

A friend of mine wanted dairy free ice cream, so we stopped by Stella Jean's, having tried their dairy free and vegan flavors in the past. The parking lot is always a kind of a challenge, but we found a spot with little trouble for a Saturday night. There wasn't a wait to order, either, so we took our time deciding and sampling flavors. I wasn't a huge fan of the oat latte (dairy free) flavor - it was too subtle of a taste for me to get much of anything. Not a terrible texture for being dairy free, however. I ended up ordering the earl grey citrus tea cake, and that was delicious! Really well balanced, especially considering that earl grey often goes wrong when it's put into desserts. There's no seating inside, and only a couple of tables outside available (unless you use the small patio area outside of AT&T and the credit union). The neighboring dessert shops' food travels fine, but for ice cream, bear in mind that it might be tricky trying to venture far for better ambiance.

My favorite ice cream place in OC!! they've got a lot of seasonal flavors and some staples ones that are always available. The workers there are always super sweet and friendly, they have great recommendations for flavors too. Parking lot is crowded but it's usually not too hard to get a spot! It's next to a lot of other eateries too so you can hit up everything at once. The shop and decor inside are all sweet and simple. My favorite flavor is the strawberry oat crumble but sometimes there's the seasonal guava and cheese and I always get it if it's there.

We picked up a pint of Stella Jean's Guava Cream Cheese flavor over the weekend. I couldn't wait to try it. We tried it later that evening. It was delicious! The guava jam swirls plus pie crust and cream cheese ice cream was a wonderful mix of flavors. We were pretty impressed. If you're into fancy artisan flavors, check out Stella Jean's Ice Cream. Stella Jean's is located next door to Pop Pie Co. and SideDoor Donuts in Costa Mesa. There is plenty of parking in the adjacent lot.

Walked in after sidecar doughnuts to look around, and the guava ice cream yelled my name...and after the first bite, I yelled back...delicious!!

Solid ice cream spot. Stopped in after happy hour at playa mesa on a Friday at around 6p. Not busy at all. My friend and I each sampled two flavors. They use real metal spoons for samples! They collected and washed them and I love the sustainability. We both ended up getting one of the four vegan flavors (and maybe 12 non-vegan flavors) they had - strawberry oat. It tasted kinda like a nutra grain bar. I was stuffed from dinner and got a kids and still didn't finish. My friend loved her single. Don't recall if they had tables or not but we wandered over to the Pop Pie side to peruse and then left. Actually I know they do have tables - at least outside for sure - I've sat there before. Cute spot, would recommend, and have come back again.

I visited from out of town and was craving unique ice cream flavors. I also prefer eating dairy-free ice cream for health reasons, and Stella Jean's does not disappoint with their vegan options! The friendly employee let us sample their flavors. I sampled the Mango Sticky Rice and Strawberry Oat Crumble; I found the Mango Sticky Rice a little sour for me, so I ended up doing a split scoop of the Matcha Pistachio and Strawberry Oat Crumble. The Matcha Pistachio tasted more like pistachio mixed with coconut (probably due to the coconut milk base), and the Strawberry Oat Crumble had chunks of cake/granola in the cream. I preferred the Strawberry Oat Crumble over the Matcha Pistachio due to the Strawberry flavor being stronger than the coconut milk base. There is not much seating inside or outside the store but luckily we came after the crowd had left. Also, we were able to try out the Pop Pie place that is right next door.

"The kid...is not my son!" Is it just me or does everyone who come here sing MJ's "Billie Jean" out loud or in their heads? ANYWAY - This spot has my favorite Ube Ice cream. I have yet to try another ice cream store that has better Ube ice cream. Employees here are always very welcoming and friendly.

Just had my best experience at an Ice Cream store last Friday. I have been here before, but it's been over a year since we came back. I came here with my family and we were greeted by Bryce. He welcome's us and asks if we wanted to try any flavors. Of course we did! He was very kind and made us feel comfortable with trying all the flavors we were interested in. After we made our selection, I asked for a cup with cone on top. He offered to put the cone in a piece of white paper, so we can break it up and scoop with the ice cream. Genius idea! He was very nice and my kiddos had a great experience with the service and ice cream! Promote this man!

Love the flavors this joint comes up with. The one that keeps us going back was the Mango sticky rice... Strawberry is classic and yummy too! And we always happy to try other new seasonal flavors whenever we are heading down that direction. Enjoy and Definately a Spot tonhit if u have out of town guests too! Ice cream is soo unique!

What I ordered: Split Single - $5.75 ** 8.5/10: Brown Butter Pecan - brown butter flavor was addicting - sprinkles of crunchy bits, maybe toffee? that reminded me of almond roca candy! 7.5/10: Earl Grey + Citrus Tea Cake - decently sized chunks of citrus tea cake - almost too floral/fragrant - swirls of raspberry jam that went well with citrus/earl grey flavors - seasonal! 8/10: Milk + Cookies - oreo bits in milky icecream, can't go wrong! ** 8.5/10: Ube + Pandesal Toffee - strong creamy ube flavor - yummy toffee bits throughout Stella Jean's is a cute little icecream store located in Costa Mesa. Parking during the day is difficult because of how busy the plaza is. It's much easier in the evening! The store is pretty small and there are very few seats available. I love the mix of traditional and unique flavors, in addition to the vegan/dairy free options! They do split singles for $0.50 more and it's perfect if you want to try different flavors. We were given samples to help us find the perfect scoop. The icecream was not overwhelmingly sweet and such a great way to end the night. Food: 8/10 Service: 10/10 Total: 9/10

Soooo glad I got to finally try Stella Jean's! Girlfriends and I were in the mood for ice cream after dinner and I was scrolling through my bookmarks and saw that this place was right down the street from where we were. Cute little store and it is located right next to Sidecar donuts and it shares the same store as Pot Pie Co. Parking can get tricky as the plaza itself is always busy. We were greeted by the sweetest clerk who let us try different samples as it was our first time and didn't know what to get. I ultimately got the Ube Pandesal Toffee. Rich, creamy and not overly sweet. Definitely will be back and will be purchasing a pint to take home next time!
