Really missed this place since their lease was not renewed in Irvine some years back.
Looks like new ownership, but glad I finally make it down.
Same great service and same great ice cream.

The ice cream here is the creamiest and softest. It’s like soft serve and regular ice cream had a baby. They make the ice creams here daily and include fresh fruit in the mixes which is so nice. The service is always amazing and the flavors are so unique. I’ve tried so many and each flavor I’ve had I’ve loved. 10/10!

I'm sorry but I've given this place a chance 3 times because it's in walking distance but I'd rather get in my car and go go Salt & Straw or Confetti. The servings sizes are always inconsistent and this time was the worst. Went on 7/19 in the evening and my serving was so weak that I finished in 3 bites and the rest melted. My partner got something too and got more than but also melted. The cheap styrofoam cups makes it feel cheaper too. It's just not good and you can tell by seeing how empty it is and how they've changed the amount of employees working. One worker was there on a Friday night. It's just not good. I think this was my last time going. If they can improve and have consistent serving sizes and cups I"d maybe go back but I'm going to stick to the other ice cream spots that are farther away.

Flavorless vanilla, 4.75$ for a small little cup that was barely filled up and that Baskin sells for 3.50 and Northgate mercado sells for 2.50.
First and last time
The legendary ice cream shop (that will ruin all other ice cream for you) returns! After being unceremoniously ousted by an not-to-be-named landlord, Strickland's defiantly and triumphantly opens at a new location at triangle square (oxymoron I know), facing 19th Street. They continue to serve soft-serve frozen custard in vanilla, chocolate, and 2-3 specialty flavors a day (check their calendar. I always get a plain cup, but I highly recommend trying some old-fashioned ways of enjoying your ice cream like the turtle sundae or surprisingly refreshing soda float. I cannot tell you how glad I am they're back.
Parking: Park at triangle square, walk along the stores until you reach the sidewalk of 19th street and turn left. Strickland's will be on your left, facing 19th Street.

Oh I'm glad this place opened back up. Granted, I prefer it to be in Irvine but at least it's opened. This way I can't eat as much, lol. Right at the corner and plenty of parking. They have their flavors on their instagram, or at least that's where I saw them. Decided to come in for the amaretto crunch on the waffle cone. They do let you sample as well! I also liked the blueberry.
The waffle cone was perfect thickness and super crunchy! What a delight and went so well with my ice cream! Soo good!! Should have got a bigger size, lol.
I almost went back the next day but decided it was a bit far to go. But if you are close by, do stop by!!! Yum

Strickland's is a great spot to swing by and get some quality ice cream. I'm not a huge ice cream guy but Strickland's doesn't fail to deliver on the cream department. The ice cream is definitely freshly made and creamy. There isn't much seating inside but it is nice to grab and go!

Strickland's Ice Cream offers a delightful experience with their custard ice cream. The team is friendly and efficient, ensuring that every visit is enjoyable. My family and I enjoyed it immensely. The custard ice cream itself is rich, creamy, and full of flavor, making it a must-try for any ice cream enthusiast.

So very excited to have a Stricklands back in California again!! When they left Irvine a few years back it was a sad time. Worth the drive for some seriously creamy ice cream (custard).

They're back! Our childhood spot that was the best dessert place in Irvine is now in Costa Mesa. All feels right with the world again.
