Sunright Tea Studio - Costa Mesa

Every time I blink I feel like there's a new boba shop in town. But allow me reintroduce you to one of the tried and true's in my roster... Sunright has always come in clutch whenever I need a lil something sweet after something salty (you know how it be) ;)

They were one of the few places that had this drinkable mochi topping that was my absolute faaave but so sad they don't have it anymore, but that's ok because I really respect Sunright for constantly evolving and rotating in new products. They currently have the super trendy Dubai chocolate in a frostie form, and where else can you get a Cosmic apple oolong tea?!

And after much trial and error by yours truly, this is how to order THE perfect drinks at Sunright take notes...

-Matcha latte with pistachio cheese foam 75% sweet
-Sunright fruit tea 50% sweet with agar boba and no fruit slices (to maximize the amount of tea) ;)

Probably one of the best boba tea places in the OC. There are choices for everyone and with the cups made of sturdy plastic gives the boba a premium feel.
Update as of October 24, 2025:
Whoever decided to serve boba tea in regular cups with lids should be fired. Ordered Uber Eats and got all my drinks spilled all over the bags. No fault of the driver. He is only trying to deliver what was ordered. Sunright tea studio decided that delivering boba tea in unsealed containers should be the new norm. Besides the spilling, it’s also unhygienic due to the fact of having unsealed food delivered.
DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM UNLESS YOU ARE PICKING UP YOURSELF OR DRINKING IT THERE!

I really like Sunrise, especially for the tea! The Oolong tea and Jasmine tea are both excellent — smooth, fragrant, and refreshing. The fruit tea is also really nice, light, and flavorful. Honestly, everything here has been good. Definitely a great spot if you’re a tea lover!

I tried many Sunright locations across Southern California but I must say this location makes the best drinks 🧋

The service was swift, and I thoroughly enjoyed the plaza ambiance. The boba was delicious, and I believe this place will become my go-to boba spot.

Delicious. I’ve bought from here 4 times already. The service is fast, the milk tea isn't too sweet, just right. The boba is soft and chewy, and the prices are quite cheap compared to this area. Highly recommend!

I love sunright tea and this is definitely my favorite location. It is quieter than the locations in Irvine and they bring out drinks fast. The employees are always patient and nice when I have a question or need any help. Even though this is a longer drive for me, I love coming here.
