Wow, what a find this place was! Tucked away hiding in a supermarket and unassuming, dining here felt like stumbling upon a hidden gem. I decided to put their menu to the test by comparing the asada and chicken tacos, and boy, did they deliver. Each bite was packed with flavor, bringing back fond memories of my go-to taco truck in LA, minus the long drive. That alone had me sold, but I couldn’t resist going for the asada burrito next, loaded up with everything, including that perfectly melty Jack cheese.Seriously, if you’re on the fence about trying this place, just go for it. The food is downright delicious, and it’s got that authentic vibe you’d be hard-pressed to find just anywhere. And the cherry on top? A mariachi band playing in the background on a Friday night. It felt like a mini-vacation, a little escape filled with great tunes and even better food.I’m definitely coming back, and soon. This spot is the real deal for anyone craving that perfect blend of mouthwatering food and a chill, festive atmosphere. Don’t just take my word for it—try it out and let the flavors speak for themselves!

This is located inside the Northgate Mercado, so the lines and wait times are quite long, especially on weekends. They need to fix their pick-up system because there were two stations at opposite ends and it confused me a lot. One was closer to the order station and the sauce bar while the other was closer to the kitchen and the rest of the staff. Everyone who ordered stood all over the place because they were unsure of where to go as well. I ended up having to ask for my order because of how confusing and disorganized it was, and my food turned out to just be sitting there for a while. I ordered a lengua (tongue) burrito and it was okay. The tongue was good and had a good, soft texture but was not too flavorful, so the bean and cheese drowned out most of its remaining flavors. I had to eat it with a lot of sauce. Because of the confusion and delay, the burrito was no longer hot when I ate it. For $11 and the amount of tongue inside the burrito, I would consider it fairly priced. Maybe I'll come back and try their tacos next time.

Love the tacos at this place!!! All the meats are great I always get the pastor and asada. Pastor sauce is spicy so if you cant handle it put it on yourself so you can decide how much. They call your name when your order is ready so dont wonder off too far the guys hustle and get them out fairly quickly. The rice is good too so a burrito from here hits right. Theres always a line here but once you try them you'll see why.

Great taco joint, very fresh ingredients and they have all the right taco options. Try the El Pastor (marinated pork) Carne Asada (steak) and the Polio (chicken) very authentic very tasty ? I'm looking forward to my next visit.

There was a long line waiting for this place. I ordered Al Pastor and Carne Asada tacos and they were good! They were $2.99 per taco and total for 4 came up to be around $12.00+. The meat wasn't dry and it was flavorful. But the Al Pastor was spicy for me, which I didn't know was spicy. The wait in line and to pick up was maybe a total of 20+ minutes, as it moved slowly but also a long line. They also have a small sauce stand with various sauces, but it wasn't labeled. They'll call your name and you can go to the pick-up area to get your food. Recommendation(s): - Al Pastor Tacos (a bit spicy) - Carne Asada Tacos Service: 5/5 Tip(s): - Very long lines - Accept Apple Pay - Has sauce stand

The Al pastor tacos were good. Line is long, which is a good sign. It does move quickly. Excellent street tacos.

I was finally able to swing by the north gate mercado and was able to try a few of the food stalls found within. We ended up grabbing some tacos and tortas from tacos los guichos. The tacos are excellent and pricing seems to be on par with other taco joints. The lengua tacos were very good although I thought the carne asada and al pastor tacos were just ok, not bad by any means but nothing to write home about either. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Remind yourself when you come here that even though it's sold as a Mercado it really is all just Northgate deli food. Drive to McFadden and Harbor and you get the exact same things far less expensive. The tacos were basic - no flavor or distinguishable meats. Why does the asada taste like lengua and the al pastor taste like asada? If you come, come to see and taste but you won't say - can't wait to go back.

Checked out this place located inside Northgate market. From ordering to pick up time it took about 30 minutes. We ordered the carne asada and Al pastor tacos. I missed my name being called and they just had my food on the side covered in foil so it wasn't hot by the time I ate them but you would think if it's covered it would still be. Idk the communication just seemed off cause I asked someone if they had called my name and they never really gave me an update and if they call your name twice then they won't call it again which is my fault but still. Anyways the tacos weren't really good to me. It didn't have much flavor and the tortillas were dry in my opinion. I have had better tacos elsewhere and prefer those to these.

Visit date 1/14. I hate to be a partypooper. I like the new Mexican mall concept, but hate the long lines (and the even longer wait to pickup your orders). As an example, I got 4 carne asasa tacos from this "Taco Los Guichos" joint. 10 minutes to order, 25 minutes to pick up, I wish I could say it's worth the wait. The tacos were not good at all. They give you a lot of meat, very little onion and cilantro, too much jalapeno, so the flavor profile is all wrong -- all you can taste is the spicy meat (which to be honest doesn't' taste all that great.) The flour tortillas were also a bit dry like they had been under a heat lamp for some time. My #1 FAVORITE taco joint in L.A. is in Hawthorne -- Ricos Tacos El Tio. Go check it out you and send me a "Thank You" note.

Finding great tacos in Costa Mesa was a challenge with El Toro Bravo holding the top spot. Well, not any more. Y’all need to make your way down to the new Northgate Mercado and hit up Tacos Los Guichos. My personal favorite is the saudero and the al pastor. That would be tacos de trompo for all you officionados. All I got to say is, if you know you know. Get over here and get your taco fix. You won’t be sorry.
