Celebrated a friend's birthday! The food was delicious starting with calamari and drinks for 3. We each a big bowl of the lobster bisque with a splash of sherry was so good. The beet salad with tenderloins cooked medium was just perfect!

I would rate Capital Grille in my top 5 best steak restaurants because their steaks are flavorful, well seasoned and they have many options for salads. We got the Butternut Squash Bisque which was perfectly accented with a green apple topping. The Roasted Beet Salad was refreshing and delicate. The Caesar Salad was good as usual. I loved the Porcini rubbed Ribeye which had a wonderful depth of flavor. The Dry Aged NY Strip with Courvoisier Cream was also delicious. We also enjoyed the sautéed spinach and creamed corn as side dishes and were not disappointed. Remember to add mushrooms to your steak which takes it to the next level! I'm looking forward to returning soon!

I've dined at Capital grille for years. Never been disappointed. Yesterday's lunch was amazing. Sea bass with a miso butter sauce with asparagus risotto. It was out of this world good. Service was top notch and Capital Grille is still our families favorite place to dine and celebrate.

One of the best burgers I’ve ever had - wagyu, blue cheese and black truffles. And an excellent wine list. Excellent service, keep in mind they have a dress code.

Had our very first visit to the restaurant for a celebration, Wendy (our server) was fantastic with extreme attention to details during our time there, the restaurant prepared very thoughtful arrangements and a card for us. Filet mignon and NY strip were both fantastically prepared, creamed spinach went very well with the meats (may taste slightly too strong on its own). Onion soup was fantastic, sour dough bun was freshly baked. Can not recommend this restaurant more.

The The Capital Grille at South Coast Plaza is one of those reliable upscale steakhouses that consistently delivers a polished dining experience in Orange County. Located right next to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, it’s a great spot for dinner before a show, a business meeting, or a special night out.

What stands out immediately is the classic steakhouse atmosphere. Dark wood, crisp white tablecloths, and attentive service create that old-school, high-end vibe that feels comfortable but still upscale. The service here is consistently professional and attentive, which makes the entire evening feel relaxed and well taken care of. Many guests mention that the staff goes out of their way to make celebrations and special occasions feel memorable.

The steaks are the main attraction. The restaurant dry-ages many of its cuts for about 18 to 24 days, which gives the meat deeper flavor and tenderness. Whether you go with a filet mignon, bone-in ribeye, or a New York strip, they know how to cook a steak perfectly. The lobster bisque, crab cakes, and fresh seafood options are also excellent starters, and the sides like creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, and lobster mac and cheese are classic steakhouse indulgences.

It’s not a cheap dinner, but that’s part of the deal at a place like this. Portions are generous and the overall experience feels worth it, especially for celebrations or client dinners. If you’re spending the day shopping at South Coast Plaza or catching a show nearby, The Capital Grille is one of the most dependable places in the area for a high-quality steak and a polished dining experience.

The staff is accommodating for large groups in this location is also wonderful for a quaint date night.

My personal favorite is the filet mignon. They do have a bone in filet that I have not tried but I am told is wonderful. Salads and appetizers are always a great starter and anytime we come for a celebration such as a birthday or anniversary, the staff goes out of their way to decorate the table, put a handwritten card for us and generally will bring out a mini dessert. Very classy.

The manager at this location is doing a phenomenal job.

Food was exquisite as always. Service was slow in beginning but got better as the night went by. They have good selection of 90 plus wine that were less than 100.

My recent visit to The Capital Grille was nothing short of outstanding. From the moment we were seated, the warm, sophisticated atmosphere set the tone for what would be a memorable dining experience. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the lamb chops. Cooked to absolute perfection, they arrived at the table with a beautiful char on the outside while remaining tender and juicy inside. The seasoning was expertly balanced, allowing the natural flavor of the high-quality meat to shine through. Each bite was rich and satisfying without being overly heavy. Equally impressive were the Brussels sprouts. I'll admit I was skeptical at first, but these were a revelation. Perfectly caramelized with just the right amount of crispness on the edges, they were elevated beyond the ordinary with what tasted like a subtle bacon influence and perhaps a hint of balsamic. They were the perfect complement to the lamb and proved that vegetables can absolutely steal the show when prepared with care. The service throughout the meal was attentive without being intrusive, and our server clearly knew the menu well, offering excellent recommendations. While The Capital Grille is certainly a splurge, the quality of the food, impeccable service, and refined ambiance make it well worth the occasion. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Food and service was great. The manager came by and suggested a sauce for the lobster and it was delightful. Will be definitely return.

We go here to celebrate birthdays. This visit was a bit disappointing in that bus staff service was not what we usually have. Had to ask for lemon wedge twice, no breadbasket, slow to refill waters etc. It's usually the best service in town. Must have been an off day. Food delicious as usual.

My friend and I came for lunch, it was a wonderful ambiance and the food was delicious! My friend always comes for the steak frites, and I particularly enjoy the salmon with couscous. I tried the butternut squash soup and it wasn't to my taste, but our server gladly replaced it with clam chowder instead which was really nice :) I enjoy dining here and will return again.
