A Wonderful Discovery in Costa Mesa

As a new customer at The Lost Bean in Costa Mesa, I couldn’t be more delighted with my experience. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed into a space that is clean, well maintained, and peaceful — perfect for relaxing or getting work done.

The coffee is excellent, crafted with care and consistency. The food is fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Everything I’ve tried has been outstanding.

What makes this place even better is the staff, especially a gentleman named Chris. He is kind, sincere, smart, and attentive. He creates a welcoming atmosphere and seems to play a major role in running the shop.

The entire team is friendly and helpful, but Chris stands out. I hope the management team recognizes him and lets him know he is appreciated. He makes a big difference.

Because of him and the great environment, The Lost Bean has quickly become one of my favorite places in Costa Mesa.

The Lost Bean is a wonderful hidden away café tucked in a business area, the perfect spot to do some work or meet clients. I tried their Keto coffee special, the ‘better than bulletproof’ and I was pleasantly surprised how good it was, despite it being very different from my typical taste. I’ll edit this review as I try more of their drinks.

The bathroom is pristine, and it’s a large open indoor and outdoor area for privacy. There’s a ping pong table which is a huge plus for me. I’ll be back to try more of their signature drinks. Coffee was smooth and strong, lacking sweetness. So Starbucks lovers beware, this is for lovers of the bold flavor of coffee. Not for watered down milk and sugar. Although, I’m sure they’ll accommodate you if that’s what you prefer.

Finally a place that has (and makes) good coffee and that actually fills the cup with more coffee than foam. Amazing atmosphere with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options. Loved it!

I think the Lost Bean is the best coffee in OC and I don’t say this lightly. The Susan Street location is located in a relaxing office park that’s perfect for a quick cup or an hour of lounging, working or wherever it is you do.

The Lost Bean has amazing coffee and the baristas are always friendly and attentive. They know their craft and their coffees are just epic.

Update 2/7: I come here at least 5x per week and have to say, everyone is great but Gavin really holds it down. Always attentive, makes solid brews, great guy. Hands down the best coffee shop with a killer workspace to get work done. I simply don’t go anywhere else these day.

You can take your dog for a walk and enjoy the peaceful environment, especially on Saturdays, making it a perfect spot for relaxation. It’s a great way to spend your time and unwind. The setting adds to the overall enjoyment.

The Lost Bean was a breath of fresh air in this coffee shop jungle. The staff there were very sociable and professional. The coffee and food selections are great. We went both days we were in that area. The seating is comfortable and there are tables and lounge chairs, and outside seating. And then the is the friendly doodle dog known as “The Boss” on one of the chairs. He knew the regulars and greeted them. We will definitely visit there when we are in the area.

Awesome coffee shop, love coming here. The cappuccino is fantastic and I love seeing Denzel the dog, he is a very good boy.

Solid 4! Downside: limited menu options and food choices.
