Rite Aid at 17th Street in Costa Mesa, CA feels like a neighborhood pharmacy. James, the pharmacist, is outstanding in every way. He is knowledgeable, kind and helpful. He and his staff are exceptional and I especially like the courtesy, friendliness and professionalism they show to their customers. Nate and Jennifer are wonderful technicians.

This Rite Aid store is great. It's in a part of town that can be a little run down, but they are a shining light. Great associates, and good product selection. Don't forget, they still have award winning ice cream for 1/2 the price as those other places.

This is a surprisingly excellent pharmacy. After becoming frustrated with CVS, Walgreens, thought I would give this local Rite Aid a chance. They are prompt, minimal wait times for medication, competent pharmacists.

came for the thrifty's side cream. online hours say it closes at 10pm. i've been here numerous times and the man working always tells me he can't serve me because they're closed at 9pm. I think he's just lazy and doesn't wanna scoop it for me. either he's a liar or update your hours. 1/9/24 9:30pm.

So I went into this rite aid after i have not frequented it in a while , i used to come here regularly when i still worked in the center. they now sell alcohol shooters next to the checkout and i have literally never had this happen before. i grabbed four little bottles to enjoy my night off and as this lady is ringing me up she stops, looks at me super judgy and asks if i'm OKAY. i'm sorry, what? i thought you were a cashier at rite aid and not a pharmacist- who, by the way, is still not legally allowed to ask why you are purchasing whatever you are purchasing. i was highly offended by this initial interaction and then it gets even better, she asks for my ID (flattered, i'm in my late 30s) and honestly gives a strong vibe she does not want to sell me these products. i've been a regular and have experienced great customer service for the last 7 years but this was too much and i would rather take my money literally anywhere else, how mortifying was that interaction?! so, if you don't want to be judged when you shop here, go literally anywhere else.

This has been my pharmacy for over 3 years and they are the best! The employees that know me, great me by name and pull my meds and ready to go. Refills are automaticaly done and I receive a text message when ready. It is the easiest and effortless. Everyone in the pharmacy is very friendly and deserve this 5-star review! Awesome team! ?????

Was rudely told that the ice cream was closed when it was clearly open lights on and everything. poor customer service. we were only a party of two and we were the only people in the store.

Seems like James is a problem for this store after reading the reviews; but I could have told you that from my own experience, an added bonus, Jennifer is no prize herself, she was insensitive and careless in our interaction -- but James is incredibly rude and condescending like others have said; I was and am not a fan of him telling me to call 5 days before the prescription runs out to make sure they have it in stock by the time it's ready... I'm not a pharmacist and if they can't handle simple patient care and understand that I'll need the medication whether they have it on hand or not then I will yet again have to find another pharmacy. But seriously, James is the WORST!!

If you or your physician calls in a prescription they never start working on it until you show up, no matter how many days in advance you call. That's if they have it in stock, which they frequently don't. My mother was discharged from the hospital yesterday after the doctor called in a prescription that she had to have this morning. They didn't have it last night, but promised it for this morning. Now they say they "might" have it this afternoon. Also, of the four times I've called them this morning they've only answered the phone once, and they put me on eternal hold.

We LOVE this Rite-Aid!! We have been customers here for years! They fill my medications, my sons, even our dogs meds! My son who has multiple complex medical needs and is on over 20 medications, and gets quite a few of them here at Rite-Aid. They deliver most of the meds to our home which is a huge help and time saver for me. The staff here is my favorite! They know us by name, and the head pharmacist James is always asking how my son is doing, and when my son is prescribed a new medication, he is always concerned about his kidneys! (Most medications metabolize thru the kidneys). Every now and then there are issues, mainly with insurance, and/or doctors offices. But Rite-Aid never lets my son go without his seizure medications even if there is a hang up with insurance or whatever. It is a lot of prescriptions, and they are good at keeping up with them all. I also love the front desk pharmacy techs! They are fast, efficient, and friendly. We love our local Rite-Aid!

******PHARMACY at Rite Aid #05733******* This review is about the pharmacy, and specifically the "head pharmacist" James Nguyen. I have ZERO ideas how the Rite Aid corporation can let a rude, condescending man like this work for them. Ive worked in customer service my entire life and would have been fired if I spoke to anyone the way this man talked to us. My husband and I called to get an update on my husbands prescription. We were polite and pleasant. This man was beyond rude to us. He was overtalking, and condescending. He literally spoke down to us like we were stupid. I was so appalled that after the call, realized I was shaking. I was so upset. I called back to get the mans name and store number to file a formal complaint with Rite Aid. This man is probably good at part of his job. Counting pills and knowing drug interactions, among whatever else is involved with the pharmacy business. But he is NOT good with people and shouldnt be working with customers. At all. Ever. Rite Aid #05733,,you should seriously look at who you have working for you. And look at your reviews and complaints overall regarding this man named James Nguyen who you have running your pharmacy. Because I know Im not the only one complaining about him. At the very least, get him some customer service and sensitivity training. Hes a liability for your company.
