Incredibly fresh fish with generous portions. The classic roles are perfect but even better than those are there unique roles. They balance the flavors really well while also have a nice texture, which is hard to do with sushi!Highly recommend for date night. Also, service was very incredibly good and really fast!!

Did not want to put this review up because I don't want this place to get too busy. The most amazing sushi I have EVER had! I unfortunately did not capture everything that we ate because I was on sushi cloud 9. We ordered the following -Garlic edamameSashimi mix - which had tuna, salmon and yellowtail The salmon was so incredibly amazing we ordered more salmon sashimi. It just melted in your mouth like butter. We also ordered more yellowtail sashimi - that was amazing also. Specialty Rolls -Hawaiian - albacore layered over a spicy tuna roll topped with scallion and mint leaf, layered with garlic ponzu sauce Booster roll - spicy chopped yellowtail roll layered with more yellow tail and topped with jalapeños We couldn't get over how amazing the salmon was that day, we tried the king salmon sushi, as well as the toro sushi. Both Incredible. Our server recommended the ocean trout sushi - also incredible. Finished with the best miso soup I have ever had. I am still dreaming about the entire experience. Great vibe, everyone was super lovely. Cannot stop dreaming about the whole experience. Making a reservation as I finish typing this.HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Dined here for lunch -made reservations to insure a table. Parking is very difficult because the place is located in a strip mall behind a gas station and the shops are all popular. We were seated right away inside-they have outdoor seating too. Inside there is a sushi bar and booths so it's very cozy and quiet. Service was superb-wait staff come by often to check and refill water and take your orders. We had the five tuna sushi special, the yellowtail, the spicy tuna on crispy rice, plain edamame and tuna sushi and rainbow roll. The fish was very fresh and the portion sizes generous. One of the best sushi places in the OC. Not cheap but worth the price for quality fresh and tasty sushi served in a cozy setting with caring waitstaff insuring you have a good experience!

Busy place during dinner time, prepare to wait if you don't book a table. Small interior, very crowded when full. The service staff is friendly.Parking: Can get hectic at lunch and dinner times. Parking is shared by several other businesses in the strip mall.

The parking is an issue here, very small and busy lot. Otherwise the food and staff were great. Good lunch specials too.

Wafu is a great sushi restaurant that has some unique menu items. The samurai burrito is one of my favorites of all time.

Delicious fresh sushi. It shares a parking lot with a gas station which kind of threw us off at first but the sushi and service was excellent. And cute outdoor table section.

Food is very flavorless and expensive. It tasted like something out of a cafeteria. We got the samurai burrito which says its the #1 choice roll. It was like paying to eat paper with flavorless sauce. Then i got the chicken cutlet with curry thinking "oh wow Japanese curry.." it must taste similar to CoCoIchybanya! ... NOPE! very sad it tasted like curry from a can! It was bad. I really cant recommend it here. Service was nice and friendly so that gets 1 star, but that is about it.

One of my favorite sushi spots in OC! I came here twice; I have tried the ten-piece omakase, a sushi and sashimi set, the Hawaiian roll, and the salmon scallop roll. Although it was a while ago, I loved the omakase! There were some unfamiliar fish (or things I may not order myself) and proved to be a fun surprise. I still think about it sometimes. All of the fish tasted fresh, was buttery and not rubbery, and relatively large (nigiri). It was great to share and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Similarly, the sushi and sashimi (ahi and salmon) set was tasty and the fish was delicious and of great quality. Both this set and the omakase came with a salad and miso soup. The miso soup I had the first time came with a shrimp -- it was tasty and rich! The rolls here are pretty standout too -- the favorite definitely seemed to be the Hawaiian roll. The garlic ponzu sauce was a to-die-for pairing with the fish and avocado. As it's description states, the salmon and scallop roll was simple but delicious -- it seemed to just melt in your mouth. Although some of the rolls may seem unconventional, I trust these ingredient pairings based on my previous experiences; I am excited to try more! The dessert was good, but nothing incredible and eye-catching. The matcha cheesecake didn't have too much matcha flavor but it wasn't too sweet which I appreciated. The tempura ice cream was interesting to try (it came with chocolate sauce too) and was tasty but not a particular favorite. The restaurant is small and intimate with decorations transporting you to Japan! I liked that you could see the sushi chefs at work and see the fish on display. There was also no wait on a weekday night (so rare for somewhere in OC!!) and was not too noisy. TL;DR - Omakase and sushi and sashimi sets are amazing and a great deal! 5/5 - Hawaiian Roll is to-die-for 6/5 (have not tried many other rolls, but their parings never seem to miss) - Dessert was tasty, but pretty mediocre 3.5/5- Everyone was helpful and friendly. Great service 5/5- Intimate restaurant that feels like you're transported to Japan 5/5

The tuna was very fresh. But our rolls were not good. I'm not sure if we just ordered the wrong rolls or if they were just bad.
