Extremely mediocre food. Wahoos used to be much better, but after today’s meal I wouldn’t return. The fish tacos were bland, the rice was mushy, and chicken was flavorless. The beans were decent and the salsa bar was pretty good. But overall, the food isn’t great.
If you are looking for a quick lunch at south coast it will get you by, but there’s much better options.

I really just don’t recommend their chicken tortilla soup. It isn’t what it says it is. If you want a bland cabbage and carrot chicken broth soup then this is what you’ll get with tortilla chips on top. I went to the salsa bar and got ingredients to give it since taste. I love trying different chicken tortilla soups and this one wins last place. Short of nursing the flu, I wouldn’t order this one again.
Our tacos were fantastic. I will eat here again, just trying to save others the disappointment.
I had a carne asada taco and chips and guacamole. Lizbeth took my order, and she remembered I liked pico de gallo with my chips. She gave great service. Along with Claudia. Claudia made sure everything was ok with my order and cleared my plates for me. Outstanding service. Thanks Wahoo's for hiring nice people at your restaurant!

Wahoos serves great tasting food. Citrus slaw tacos; fish and carnitas are delicious! I typically enjoy the margaritas, but for the first time, i would not recommend ordering margaritas at the costa mesa location. They were bitter, lacking flavor.
Best two locations for service and margaritas are Huntington Beach anf Los Alamitos. These two locations should share the recipe and guidelines for service.
