Perfect location for a fun night out before the show at Segerstrom! Drinks and food were delicious and unique. Loved our booth in the beautiful front patio area! Easy walk to the show and then so great after the show picking up our car from the valet! Highly recommend!!

Food and service was outstanding as usual! We were there for a birthday celebration and we were given a special dessert for special occasions only. It was delish!

We had a phenomenal time here last night before a musical at the Segerstrom Center. We usually have dinner here prior to a show and it's consistently wonderful! The service is always extremely good but last night (I think he was a manager) Dominic really stood out with excellent customer service and our server was Jenny (I think that was her name) and she was also outstanding. Both of them were committed to us getting through quickly to get to our show on time. Food, drinks and bread ere DELICIOUS! Thank you!

Not great food, way overpriced. Overcooked sea bass, asparagus gremolata too salty, all veggies too oily. Cioppino shellfish totally unshelled, and broth too thin and oily. Boyfriend had stomach problems for two days after. Hostesses were somewhat stand-offish. Would not return.

Food was disappointing....very different than previous experiences. Lettuce was wilted and salads seemed very very light.

My wife and I had dinner at Water Grill you celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary. First time here for both of us. The restaurant is beautiful and the ambiance is great. The food was good. My wife had the "off menu" special whole Pink Bream, cerviche style. She liked it a lot. I had the 8 oz. filet, which was nicely charred. I also had the wedge salad. The server asked if I wanted it chopped. I said no. Someone wasn't paying attention, because I got it served chopped anyway. I also asked for some exter blue cheese dressing on the side, which I never got. Unfortunately, the selection of sides is quite limited, and not very interesting. I ended up with French fries, which were good but over priced at $11. We had high hopes for Water Grill, but I don't think we'll back.

Met friends for a birthday diner. I had the seared tuna. Wasn’t sure if it was sitting for a while or just over seared. Service was good as usual, but the quality of all of our plates was not on par for what we have experienced here before. Maybe the kitchen staff was understaffed.

Like other reviewers mentioned, there is much to like about the Water Grill. First time diners. We were warmly welcomed, waited ever so briefly for our table, got phenomenal service from our server, and enjoyed delicious appetizers and entrees.

Would definitely return.

If the kitchen were open to feedback, the cioppino would be over the top with peeled shrimp and cracked crab.

It's difficult to peel shrimp and cracked crab covered in hot broth. Doing so lessened the dining experience which is disappointing given how fabulous the cioppino tastes!!! I told our server, I'd like to take home a container of broth: it was that good. BTW, I thought the salmon, which is unusual in cioppino, was an amazing addition. The fish and the broth complemented one another perfectly!

Great staff - from valet, host, wait staff to Manager--all very courteous, attentive and professional. Great food - from appetizers to entree--nicely cooked, well seasoned and ample portion. I love this place and it keeps on pulling me back. Thank you.

We showed up 30 minutes early, and they were nice enough to see us promptly! Restaurant grew more crowded as we were there, but it didn't stop the wonderful service that we experienced. Our server was very attentive, even timed our dishes coming out in such a way that there was no rush as we had two hours to spare before going to see Hamilton at the local performing arts center. We had the raw oysters, six West Coast six East Coast and they wereexcellent! Great sizes too! They were kind enough to cut the cob salad for us, and the bacon and blue cheese were phenomenal! I enjoyed the Oysters Rockefeller and Halibut cheek, which was very fresh! The butter and fennel sauce they set the pieces of cheek in was a little overpowering for my taste. I took the pieces out and after draining the sauce off as much as I could, enjoyed them very much! I've always enjoyed the Oysters Rockefeller here, get them every time as they are quite good sized and the mixture that they bake them in is fantastic! The only drawback was the clam chowder. I've never had clam chowder before that had three clams still in the open shell, served in the soup. I'm not sure I like sticking my fingers in the soup to get the oyster out of the shell. But it tasted great! Will certainly return again!

Our waiter was attentive, patient and very knowledgeable about the menu. She made great efforts to check in with the chef about specific questions we had about certain raw bar orders. Great drink selection and AMAZING oyster bar!
