“We've been coming to Crescent City 4-years running, this meeting our 5th visit. Always going to The Apple Peddler at least once during our stay. Yesterday, we got checked in at our hotel and headed for The Apple Peddler for dinner. We noticed a "Help Wanted" sign in the window. In addition, they always had colorful pie recommendations painted on the front windows... Nothing. That is just window dressing, we were both so very hungry. After waiting to be seated, we each requested a Pepsi, of which they stated they were out of. 😳 Tried to have a small conversation with the server, jokingly inviting him to our wedding here Saturday. Since it appeared he was the only greeter/server, he went to get our drinks. Upon his return, we explained we'd be sharing our dinner. We ordered the Teriyaki chicken. According to the menu; Two whole boneless/skinless breasts cooked to perfection with a grilled Pineapple Ring. Dinners had choices of salad, veggies and baked-potato with fixin's. When the salad arrived, he was kind enough to bring each of us a separate salad. As we finished our salad, we both remarked how the croutons were extremely salty. And then we waited for our entree and waited. Finally, dinner arrived. What was on the plate were two small, flat chicken breasts drowning in salty teriyaki sauce, no grilled pineapple and a small bowl with about 2 TBS of soggy corn. The baked-potato had some cheese & bacon pieces with sour cream on the side. It looked and tasted microwaved (at best). Normally, blackberry pie or cobbler would be a definitive YES. There was no chance of paying for anymore "food" from this restaurant. To put it as plain as possible, something since last year changed drastically in their restaurant. From this customer's point of view, it was all the things that made The Apple Peddler a trademark and "must go" to Crescent City is gone. Very disappointing.“
