Best fried chicken in the region. I would give it 5 stars if they fried it in peanut oil instead of canola. Real southern fried chicken is fried in peanut oil.
What an adorable lodge! It was 20° out on a lovely fall morning, McGee Creek trails were calling, but I needed a little coffee. This warm and adorable lodge was a lovely welcome.
amazing! such a gem; happy to have found this!!!
Such nice people and great location. Close to a bunch of hiking, convict lake, hot springs etc
Beautiful area and creek around this lodge 🥰🥰 and really nice people at the store ❤️
The lodge is absolutely beautiful, and even if you’re not staying overnight, the café alone is worth the visit. The food was outstanding we enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and each meal was memorable.
The salads were fresh and creative, with delicious toppings that made them stand out. The McGee Creek breakfast was incredible the sausage, pancakes, eggs, and bacon were all perfection. The salmon dip was rich and flavorful, and the pulled pork salad was simply unforgettable.
Truly a one-of-a-kind destination that we can’t wait to return to and create many more memories in the years ahead. Lastly do you wanna think the amazing Jessica our server along with the dining staff who made the food even more special.
Love it, very peaceful place, the wate creek is so nice and fresh.
Beautiful place in a beautiful area. It's not luxurious but considering the area it's great! Rooms are quite small, but was very comfy with our stay. There was a mouse siting but somewhat expected in such a backwoods environment.
Wish you guys offered dinner!
Such a fun, quaint little lodge. I highly recommend the studios. They are very nice with all the amenities.

Don’t plan on eating lunch at this place. They don’t stick to their posted hours and stop serving whenever they feel like it. They don’t even have the courtesy of posting changes.
Was driving from Long Beach to Reno, needed sleep. Very friendly and extremely clean. A definite must go again
We had a wonderful stay at MGee Creek Lodge! Super nice people that were knowledgeable about the area. Well-stocked little store. Lakeside Cabin was brand new and well-appointed. Can't wait to go back.
We booked McGee Canyon #1 at McGee Creek Resort for two nights as part of our Highway 395 fishing adventure—and it was exactly what we hoped for. This private room, attached to the main lodge, felt newly remodeled and was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. We loved the two extra sofas in the room, which provided a comfortable seating area to unwind after a long day outdoors. A little in the pricy side for a few nights but not much available unless you go into Mammoth.
The cabin has a small bar area with a fridge, and outside there’s a porch with additional seating and a BBQ grill. That said, it would be helpful if the resort provided a few basic items—like a cast iron pan, disposable plates, and utensils—especially for guests hoping to cook up a fresh-caught trout. There’s no sink in the unit for washing dishes, so we understand the limitation. An even better solution might be to remove the individual BBQs from the units and create a central outdoor cooking area on the property—complete with a sink, prep counter, shared grills, pans, and dishes. That would be more convenient and guest-friendly.
The resort has a small general store with snacks and essentials, and a continental breakfast is included with your stay—an easy, appreciated touch to start the day.
There’s great fishing right around the resort, and after checking out, we drove just a few miles to Owens Lake and spent a few peaceful hours casting there. The area is absolutely stunning. The only downside was the 10 a.m. checkout time, which felt a little early—11 a.m. would’ve been ideal—but that’s truly my only complaint.
Parking was right outside our room, which made unloading easy, and we felt completely safe leaving our vehicle unattended—even with our fishing gear inside.
McGee Creek Resort is owned by Convict Lake Resort, just down the road. We rented a boat there for a day of fishing and had a fantastic dinner at their restaurant on our final night—it really tied the trip together.
While Mammoth is just a short drive away for dining and shopping, we preferred being off the beaten path. McGee Creek Resort offered the perfect mix of peace, nature, and comfort. We’d definitely stay again!
Had lunch on the patio today.. it was great! Food was good, service was good and the views!!! I could have sat there all day.
