Fantastic place! Went there last minute for a quick dinner, sat outside with our absolutely amazing food! We’ve been sampling Mexican food on our trip and this was top notch! Don’t go past just because it’s on a busy bit of the street, stop and sample, you won’t regret it! Lovely staff and great Mexican beer too!
I got the crispy tacos. I've been going to here for years and years probably about 20 years and I love the food I know it's a little hole in the wall place and it's right by the boardwalk and I know what to expect but the crispy tacos are out of this world
I loveeeeeed the tacos!! Best tacos ever ??????????????

Taco shop is closed don't think it will ever reopen
Las Palmas Taco Bar is an inexpensive fast-casual Mexican restaurant located only a block or two from the start of the Santa Cruz Boardwalk and Wharf. The store sign clearly mentions vegetarian and vegan options among the choices. We were pleased to find ample outdoor seating. I ordered a vegetarian burrito and was happy to know that the refried beans were vegan (not fried with animal fat). My wife ordered a couple of meat tacos with a side of beans and rice. We both found our meals delicious, and the staff was friendly and efficient. We will definitely return the next time we visit Santa Cruz.
I like giving family owned businesses my business. Having said that, I regret coming here. The young man who took my order "forgot" to give my order to the cook. I guess he was too busy texting on his cell phone to care about paying customers. I waited as I watched customers who ordered after me getting their orders before me, so I asked the guy who took my order where my food was. No apology. Nothing. I was disappointed when I finally received my food.. It tasted straight from a can. Over rated and over priced, and too salty. I actually got a stomach ache from eating here. Not authentic at all and bad service. Tourist trap.....
Tourist trap with ride ownership, ordered shredded beach tacos, salty and barely any filling. Many other options off the beach.
This is good Mexican food. I had burritos, they were great. I would recommend for good fast fast food at a reasonable price.
Had a quick lunch stop here and smashed both shredded chicken and beef burritos with the nachos - might be the best I've ever had! Don't be put off by the slightly run down exterior, just add to the charm...

My husband and I stopped here since it was busy and assumed that indicated their food was good. Despite the seemingly good reviews, this place was horrible. It was greasy, bland and flavorless. They included some hot sauce that should came with a warning.....the habanero was like molten lava hot. We both ended up with stomach issues afterwards. I do not recommend this place.

This small Mexican restaurant has been here for many years. They offer outdoor tables during COVID and free parking. The service was friendly and very good. It feels like a family owned taco bar. I tried the special burrito (pan fried). It was such a pleasant surprise. The presentation was very well done!! I found it to be delicious in its simplicity and it really stood out at the same time. Well balance and not overly salty. Recommended!!
