El Rey Restaurant and Bar went out of there way to help me, they treated me with kindness, food was outstanding, and the owner LITERALLY gave me the shirt(jacket) off his back. I'm from Fresno, and I accidentally got stranded in Delano, and when I discovered there was no bus station, my phone was dead, on top of being soaked head to toe. Nothing was even open, except for El Ray's, but that's all I needed. He allowed me to charge my phone, so I ordered an Ice cold, I guess it would be like a tall boy Pilnser, bud- light, the days 5$ special, while my phone charged. There was apparently a party, so the mood was up- beat and festive. As I spoke with the owner, relaying my story, he understood my predicament and as a kind and caring person would do, he hooked me up with some of the best Mexican food I've had in awhile, a Lil bit of everything, and when it was clothing time I asked if maybe there was something dry I could wear in lost and found, he went to look and a few minutes later said no there wasn't, but I could have his jacket. He didn't have to do that, I got myself in the bad situation, but he said it's what he hoped someone would do for him. I gratefully took it, the food, and obviously survived the night to be writing this review. So if you want the best music, the best food and drinks, but also the best people? Then there's only one place to go in Delano, Ca. And that's El Ray's Restaurant and Bar.

My homie owns this food is never disappointing Best Mexican food in Delano bar is good too
Sat at bar. One bartender. Couldn't get service. Bartender served patrons who showed up/asked for drinks after I sat ar bar. I get it, but still shouldn't be happening.
In addition, music is always TOO loud. Can't have a conversation--or order a drink--without yelling. Its a bar...not a club. Pathetic.

We have been here to eat, various times the food is delicious the service is great! As long as the quality and quantity of the food stays the same. We will be going back. The plates are a generous size and great prices. It’s sooo delicious ! We also make the drive from Bakersfield so 40+ mins to get there is worth it because it’s been a great experience every time we go!

My husband and I came to El Rey on the recommendation of a friend. Wow! Great food, great service and great atmosphere. I had the enchiladas suizas and my husband had the chile rellenos with rice and beans. Both were amazing. We will definitely be coming back soon.

I had a party of 25 people for lunch ,it was buffet style. It includes chile verde, chicken fajitas, cheese enchiladas, rice, beans, salad, chips n salsa, and a soft drink. The chicken fajitas were very bland, not munch flavor, the chile verde was good. They served more chicken fajitas on our plates and less chile verde. I paid $23 dollars a person.
