My son and I had the pleasure of dining at "Taste This Kitchen" for the first time on a delightful Friday early evening. Upon entering, we noticed there were only three occupied tables, including ours, but we were not deterred. As the evening progressed, we found ourselves to be the sole diners in the restaurant. Despite the quiet ambiance, we were in for a pleasant surprise - the food was simply outstanding, rivaling even high-end establishments but at a reasonable price point.My son opted for the chicken pasta, while I decided on the salmon dish. Both dishes were executed to perfection, leaving no room for any complaints. I take pride in my own salmon-cooking abilities, and I seldom order dishes I can replicate at home. However, the salmon at "Taste This Kitchen" was beyond impressive; it made me reconsider my culinary skills. I'm already planning to bring my wife here to experience the same culinary delight.One of the greatest challenges for any restaurant is maintaining consistency in their offerings. However, "Taste This Kitchen" seems to have mastered this art flawlessly. I am optimistic about the restaurant's future as they have consistently delivered an outstanding dining experience.Located in Discovery Bay, this hidden gem is a must-visit for locals and nearby residents. A truly five star experience. My server was amazing. The drinks were flavorful. The food was cooked perfectly. I even got a visit from the chef.I had a Caesar salad. Dressing tasted homemade and thick. Crispy lettuce tasted farm fresh.The avocado toast with over medium egg and arugula was yummy. A great choice for anyone who doesn’t want a meat dish.Mac and cheese was rich and full of flavor. I’d love for the top to be flame broiled and have some color to it. Otherwise, a good side dish.The hibiscus mimosa wasn’t strong but it tasty nonetheless.While it’s a bit pricey, I found it totally worth it and be back for more of their events and apparently … bottomless mimosas ?I left there complaining satisfied. Thank you!

It's two thumbs up for me!Was our first time trying this restaurant. We ordered the TTK Smash Burger and Classic Cajun Jambalaya for takeaway and the food was ready when we got there—didn't have to wait long. We're pleasantly surprised! Both the burger and jambalaya were excellent!!! Customer service was good too. Feeling happy we've discovered a nice local restaurant that is basically a gem. Will be ordering from/visiting this place again for sure, and will look forward to trying the other dishes on the menu. Well done Taste This Kitchen ??

I wasn’t expecting Cajun flair in Discovery Bay, but this place has it! Taste This Kitchen is a lovely small restaurant with a welcoming vibe and strong menu. I had the Jambalaya, which was excellent. Spice level offered a good kick without setting me on fire. Delicious flavor and perfectly done rice. My dining companion had what easily the best looking Caesar salad with chicken I’ve seen in ages. She reported that it was delicious while gobbling it down. Friendly and attentive servers as well. Absolutely worth a visit; the menu variety certainly supports coming back for more!

Absolutely abysmal! 0 stars, 1 is too generous. We basically ordered 2 plates of salt and garlic as nothing else could be tasted. Then heard the staff laughing about it when returned. Horrible establishment

Terrible food what disappointment, everything was so salty, fries look like they were dipped in dirt never seen anything like it no, thanks won’t be back do not recommend.

Outstanding experience. Get out and support this restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing. Had the TTK Smash Burger and the JBird Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Also shared the Delta Wedge. My kids got the grilled cheese and the Mac and Cheese. I want that mac and cheese to myself next time I go. Everything was by far the best food I've had in the area by a million.

Great food and fantastic service. This is my go to breakfast or brunch spot. The food is so flavorful and afresh fresh fresh! I don’t feel like my potatoes lived in the bottom of a freezer for a year like some other places etc. I also love their wait staff they are upbeat and friendly and great at what they do! Also just try the Cajun Benedict I promise it’s delicious!

Called an hour before closing and was told Kitchen was closed. SMH!

Love this place! The food taste fresh and the menu is great. I order chicken and waffles every weekend for brunch. I also love the shrimp po boi sandwich. Highly recommend. Love that they are in my town.

The only reason I am doing a review maybe to help! Two Very small eggs overcooked..Two pieces of Very overcooked bacon..toast and potatoes..$31.00? Too bad as area needs something..hope they figure it out!

We were recommended to try this new place because it was a cajun restaurant with a very interesting story for how it got it's start. Need to check it out! When deciding where to go today, we looked up the menu here in Google Maps, so we thought Cajun Eggs Benedict sounded perfect... Loaded up the car and drove out to Discovery Bay to have brunch (on a Thursday) and support a new, local place.*Be aware that Cajun Eggs Benedict is only served for brunch on Sat & Sun.* ?The place was clean and comfortable, even a cute yet clean restroom. The customer service provided to us was ahh-mazing. Being 10:30am on a Thursday, she could've checked in minimally but she really worked to make sure we were informed on what to order and to make sure we were happy. Thanks, Raja!Don't come here expecting cajun-like food, it's more trying to be like gourmet-American. Also the price point is a little high for the portions, but with everything made fresh in house (dressings, sausage, etc) it was indeed fresh and good.Was going to give 4 stars for getting 2 meals and both of us leaving still kinda hungry, but you know that customer service makes it 4.5 stars...so rounding up to a 5.
