I visited Dixon for my Niece's wedding. After the rehearsal on Wed around 8:30 pm, my daughter and I were hungry and wanted to experience a fun, local place to eat. Dawson's far exceeded our expectations. As soon as you walked in you could feel the buzz of happy customers enjoying good food. There is a bar there but they have a roomy yet cozy dining area. They have both high top tables and regular tables that seat 4 people. I ordered a fantastic pastrami sandwich that was a Reuben on a very fresh bagel bun. The fries were amazing too! They were seasoned with herbs and very lightly salted. My daughter raved about her wedge salad that was fresh, crisp and served with cherry tomatoes. They take great pride in their food. We were really thirsty so we did not order alcoholic beverages, but they kept my Arnold Palmers coming without me having to ask for refills. Dawson's even smelled good, unlike some popular bar spots

Some friends and I stopped by on a whim to grab a drink and some bites.
We came in around 2:40PM and there was plenty of seating.
We had great service and the food was pretty delicious. Happy hour was happening and they had pretty good deals on some food items.
I got the tot'chos. It was tater tots with coleslaw and barbecue pulled pork on top. It was really good!
I enjoyed a strawberry lemondrop. A little on the strong side, but who complains about that?
Definitely recommend and we'll definitely go again.

Went there for lunch with my family. Great restaurant. We had the pastrami sandwich, burgers, fries and drinks from bar. Loved it and service was great. Highly recommended if you're ever in downtown Dixon.

Went here for family Sunday breakfast. First time in the restaurant and Dixon. Was pleased with the overall quality of the dining room, bar, menu and the selected dishes. Kids chose from the kids menu- usual selection of kids meals. I enjoyed my omelette. The coffee was good too. If I find myself in Dixon in the future I'll make a point of stopping in.
Kid-friendliness: Kids menu had a choice of items that the children ( aged 3, 5, and 8) seemed to enjoy.

First time we didn't know what to expect.. not alot of room for a sit down dinner... but after waiting at the bar for an open table and settling in it was great!! The Tuscan Chicken was amazing.. the pizza was delish and the mezcal Old Fashioned was Perfect!! Would definitely recommened.. but atmosphere is as it's named.. bar and grill!! ✌️
Hi, my husband and I usually go to Dawsons 1 or 2 per week but we noticed that the food isn’t consistent. I used to like your onion rings they were crunchy and flavorful. My son loved the chicken Ortega sandwich his favorite. Now gone from the menu and the onion rings are now greasy and made differently. I also ordered the Mac and cheese with chicken and it was served cold. My son and husbands waited 20 minutes before being served their food. We all ordered at the same time. I know your prices went up as well and our food portion was smaller but Please talk to your cooks you’re the only restaurant we like in Dixon food wise. We would hate to stop dining at your location. I’m all about supporting family owned businesses.

Food is great. Recently increased their prices but that is expected due to gentrification (houses selling for 900k) and rising costs of everything. Water has a very strong earthy and metallic taste. I am used to well water, this is distasteful. Charge high prices, expect more perfection, hence the four stars. Will continue to come but may bring my own water.
