We ordered our usual a molcajete camarones a la Cora along with an aguachile verde de camarón. We have had this food before and never had an issue. The food this time was completely disappointing.

The shrimp in the aguachile was super raw, like they just grabbed them, threw them on a plate with cucumber and onion, and added a tiny bit of lemon. No seasoning, no flavor, and the shrimp were chewy from how undercooked they were. It honestly seemed like the shrimp never even sat in the lemon juice.

The molcajete meat was also tough and chewy, like it was barely cooked for a few seconds.

When we brought the issue to the manager’s attention, instead of acknowledging the problem, she kept arguing, saying the shrimp was “meant to be raw.” There’s a big difference between properly cured shrimp in lemon juice and shrimp that’s practically straight out of the bag. She was rude and dismissive, and at first said she couldn’t remove it from our bill. In the end, she did, but her excuse was that “the cooks don’t like when customers return food.”

If that’s the case, then the cooks should make sure the food is prepared properly in the first place. We’ve come here before and never had issues, but after this experience — the poor food quality, dismissive attitude, and unprofessional service — we won’t be coming back.

I used to go here once or twice a week a few years ago and had take out while visiting a friend a few weeks ago. Still excellent. I would always ask for a Suoer Burrito by paying a bit extra and tipping a couple bucks in advance and they'd deliver a burrito that could feed 3-4 people. All their food has always been delicious with great portion size. The entire staff is always friendly. I'd recommend becoming a regular and you'll never eat Mexican food anywhere else. They also have Live Musica very often.

I ordered a super burrito steak and Adobo meat. When I got my food the meat was overfried and dry. There was barely any guacamole on it. Customer service was great. But overall the food taste was not there.

We were headed towards a business outside of Dixon and had read about this restaurant. On our way back we stopped for a late lunch. From the outside it looked vacant inside but as soon as we walked inside we could see the place was packed. The food was amazing. I ordered a Chili Rellenos ala carts because I’m not a big eater and I will tell you that was the best Chili Rellenos I have ever eaten. The sauce was delicious, the coating on the pepper was not thick like some and the taste was amazing. I am a Chili Rellenos fanatic and that was the best ever! My son ordered a Chili Verde burrito that he said was awesome. Delicious Chili Verde. He could only eat half as it was a very big burrito. If we didn’t live 90” away I would eat there weekly! Don’t drive by, just dive in!
