Chris & Pitts BBQ Restaurant

I've been going to Chris & Pits for years since I was a child and I recently moved to Tennessee and we went down to California for a trip and went there and the food was not good at all. My baked potato was hard. The onion rings were cold. The waitress just wasn't very friendly, just a really bad overall experience

Decided to go to Chris and Pitts today, Sunday, 9-7-2025

My three friends and myself went to the Chris and Pitts on Lakewood Boulevard. I ordered the combo plate with four pieces of chicken and two beef ribs with a side of fries and barbecue beans and a salad with thousand dressing. $29.95 and a fountain drink Pepsi $4.15. I was not told about a $4.20 of charge for the two beef ribs on the combo so my total ended up being with tax of $3.95 $41.55 total for the meal plus tip.

This meal was recommended to me by the waiter my friend ordered a combo, which was also recommended by the waiter for the same price that had five beef ribs, same mill no chicken the ribs were all twice the size of mine, and no up charge his meal was $31.00

Well, I have to say I was a little disappointed when I found that my friends platter was twice the size of mine with five giant barbecue beef ribs for only $31 and I paid 4155 and had way less food

Well, I would have to say the food was great, but the price was too high.

When I go there again, probably not in the near future as the restaurant was quite old and rundown.

But I would still give it four thumbs up just because the food was tasty. Have a service was good.

The food was cooked perfect and very tasty. The salad was a little small and I ordered a Pepsi-Cola fountain drink.

I love Chris n Pitts. Always have... Great food, good value... But they have changed. Service is far slower, and they charge for everything.... Prices have doubled, specials have changed, soup is no longer included, and I understand inflation, but this place has inflated far above every other restaurant I frequent, yet the value and service have gone down... Unfortunately I won't be dining there again. This is based on 3 consecutive visits not 1 bad experience. It's just sad the Pico Rivera location shut down... It was 10 to times better.

The staff was rude and cold . Not attentive at all and had a attitude the whole time if you asked for anything. Wasn't worth the wait or the price .kinda sucks because the food wasn't bad.

We when I was a kid we had a Chris & pitts close to our house, it was the only restaurant my grandma would go to. I found out there are still 2 in SoCal. They had the BEST onion rings. I took my husband so he could try them. I have not had them in 40 years, they’re still the same!

The ribs were delicious! Our server was awesome! Only down side to this place is that the food is pricey but the portions are huge!
This is one of my daughters favorite places to eat ribs

The daily specials are good! I would suggest getting the BBQ sauce in the side as it is a bit overwhelming

I was visiting on a work trip and heard this was a good place to eat. The service was fast, and they took my order within minutes of seating me. I had the sirloin steak and half chicken plate. The sirloin was delicious, but the chicken was a little overcooked and really dry. I will be returning to try their ribs, though.

Food here is awesome used to go to the chris n pitts in Whittier before it closed and I can confirm the food is just as good. The servers are awesome especially Jose.
