I arrived at the Whole in the Wall restaurant with excited expectations, but unfortunately, my experience turned out to be quite disappointing. The place itself was rather cramped, and an unsettling odor hung in the air, a mix of stale fish and something else unpleasant that I couldn't quite identify.
When my order arrived, I was taken aback by the sushi's texture; it was far from the delicate, fresh consistency I anticipated from a sushi restaurant. Instead of the light, silky feel I'm used to, it had a gummy, off-putting quality that made it hard to enjoy.
I decided to pair my meal with a beer, but when the server handed me the glass, I noticed a strong, rancid smell emanating from it that made me hesitant to take a sip. It was truly off-putting and did not inspire confidence in the cleanliness of their glassware.
To top it off, the scallop roll was visually unappealing, with an odd presentation that made it seem less like a carefully crafted dish and more like an afterthought. The glistening scallops that I hoped would be mouth-watering appeared dull and lifeless.
Overall, I simply couldn't bring myself to finish my meal, and I left the restaurant feeling dissatisfied and quite willing to chalk this experience up as a lesson learned. I certainly don’t intend to return; eating here felt like a regrettable error in judgment.
