As always such a treat to get food from here. Savories, sweets sandwiches all so good. To see them spread out and having to choose is so difficult. Cubano was sour and the Spicy Chicken Milanese was great but not so spicy. Ropa Veja was also tasty. . The bread on all these… perfect. Mango shake was better than the Passion Guava. It gets very crowded at lunch time. You cannot order sandwiches online. The drinks they make when you pick them up.

05/21/25 I came here and got 3 potatoe balls and 3 spicy balls . One of the potatoe balls had a hair. Looks like a very thin light brown hair inside and out side the ball. I'm sure it came from the cooks is not outside it's attached fully cooked with the ball. I got grossed out but I come here ALL THE TIME AO WHAT I CAN I DO??? 😮😮👁️👁️

I went on a weekday at lunch time. It was super busy but still easy to find seating (probably because the weather was nice and we sat on the patio). They are also incredibly speedy at taking orders but good and coffee takes a while to come out. Everything was super fresh and delicious: I got the ropa vieja plate. Everything go about it was great! Plantains cooked perfectly, flavorful beef, and fluffy rice. I got a few pastries as well. Chicken empanadas 3/10, raspberry matcha eclaire 6/10, guava cheese pastry 10/10.

Parking is a little bit of a hassle but if you park a block or two down you will find parking and it is worth it.

Where do I start. This place is so cash. I’m probably returning again tomorrow morning and the next.
My mind is blown by their efficiency. This shouldn’t be logistically possible but here we are. There are at least 100 people working inside this place (I counted). The line moves quickly, food comes quickly, there’s a system and a process for everything to avoid delays… these guys are good
Good stuff. Organized chaos in there especially on weekends and near holidays.

My family and I love the amazing cheese rolls from this place! Even with the long lines, it's always worth the wait. We got there after 7 and it was still packed. This one's bigger than the others, and it's got such a great vibe. You gotta try it.

Warning to customers when ordering! A week before 05/10/25, I went in person to the store to place an order for catering sandwiches. I was turned away stating that they cannot take orders early and I have to call day before or day of when I pick up. I called at their opening on day of my event to place an order and they said they do not take sandwiches orders and advised that I should have placed it least a week before or 48 hrs. The misinformation is ridiculous. I went in person! I will never order from Portos Downey again or Portos. I used to applaud their efficiency in store but this experience is a nightmare!!!
