Rio Hondo by Wedgewood Weddings

I don't even know where to start. Our biggest reservation with having a wedding was initially thinking about how much we'd have to spend upfront. Wedgewood made it simple by breaking it up into payments leading up to the wedding day. Thankfully, we got a headstart and planned 18 months ahead. So the payment plan per se, was much more doable once it was laid out!

From our initial conversation with the venue to the final days leading up to the wedding, Rio Hondo made it so easy for us. The planning was essentially laid out step by step and easy to navigate through the online portal! The reminders were within reason, the checklist was helpful, and the admin staff were accomodating.

We decided to get the third tiered package with the venue. The package came with a day-of wedding coordinator, buffet styled dinner, a DJ and MC, a photobooth, top-shelf and open bar, a floral centerpiece for each of our tables, and a few other things including a smooth planning schedule.

Rio Hondo - thank you for making our wedding experience such a breeze! Laura and I both had so much fun. We really didn't feel like we stressed about anything.

Tamica was our day-of coordinator, Nestor was our banquet captain, and Dustin was our DJ and MC. Tamica, thank you for being so present and attentive to our needs. From bringing us water to helping us fix our appearances as the day went on, and everything else in between. It was a fun experience sharing our plans with you. Thank you for helping us bring them to life! Nestor, you and your kitchen staff did an amazing job with the food and appetizers. We had so many compliments on the food. Many of our guests were happily surprised and satisfied. I keep thinking about the mac and cheese croquettes, the chicken with sherry cream, and the salmon. YUM! Dustin, you rock so much. Laura and I were type-A personalities when it came to the song selections, our grand entrance, the surprises, and the Labubu tosses. Thank you for working with us to make it happen!!

The entire staff at Rio Hondo showed up and showed out for us. Thank you all for making our special day (surprise and actually our 2-year wedding anniversary) so much fun, easy going, and truly unforgettable! For anyone hesitating, JUST DO IT! You won't regret it 🥰

Lovely place for a wedding venue right off the golf course. It was fantastic

Too crowded and dangerous and expensive compared with any other golf course. You must take a risk your own to hit a ball from other hole’s players.
But good players who closed for local residents for golf lovers to take all those risks.

I recently had my wedding at Wedgewood Wedding Rio Hondo in Downey in May, after a year of meticulous planning with their team. I am delighted to give the venue a 4-star rating. The sales and planning coordination team were exemplary, especially David and Tamica, who were consistently responsive through email and communication.The venue itself is stunning, and May proved to be the perfect time for a wedding. We chose Wedgewood Rio Hondo primarily due to its convenient location and its nearly all-in-one solution. While I had to handle many wedding details myself, the ability to choose from a selection of vendors within a single package was a significant advantage.David, our coordinator, was exceptional. He made the entire process stress-free and even assisted with my bridal veil hair accessory, which was a thoughtful touch.The only slight downside was the reception. Our guests experienced a longer wait for their food, and the taste was somewhat mediocre, despite opting for duel plated meals.Overall, I give Wedgewood Wedding Rio Hondo a solid 4/5, largely due to the outstanding efforts of David and the rest of the sales and coordination team.

Was very unprofessional. Was told over phone one thing about venues and their details but once arrived was told that it’s not true. They also do not accommodate religions. I am told I cannot get kosher food (as I am Jewish) either catered by them or bring my own. They are discriminating.

We got married on NYE’s Eve and if I could get married again at Rio Hondo I would! From start to finish our experience was truly amazing. Our initial meetings with Fabiola were very informative and she was always so knowledgeable and always answered our questions promptly! We also really appreciate the flexibility with the Rio Hondo team as we are from out of town and planning a wedding long distance can be stressful. Rest assured the Rio Hondo team handled everything extremely professionally and with so much care! Huge shoutout to our wedding coordinators David and Tamica, they were spectacular and we felt taken care of from the rehearsal to the wedding day. David and Tamica went above and beyond and we felt we could trust them with anything! We will forever cherish their kindness and professionalism! We also wanted to give a huge shout out to the chef CJ, who cooked amazing food all day! Our guests could not stop talking about the food! In addition, both Natalia and Nestor, our banquet captains, were amazing all night and very attentive to any of our needs. We honestly had an amazing experience and would do it all over again at Rio Hondo!

My husband and I got married here in October 2023 and it was an dream wedding thanks to the Wedgewood Rio Hondo team. Everyone was super friendly and very helpful every step of the way. They have great deals and have connections to vendors which made planning our wedding SO much easier. And they give you a binder which explains the process and helps you keep track of things.This is definitely a location I would recommend checking out. Beautiful outdoor ceremony site & large reception hall. And they have both bridal & groom suites! My husband and I saw a few venues before this one and only 1 location had a "bridal suite" which was more akin to a large storage closet converted into a bridal suite. Trust me, if for the suites alone, check this place out.
