Visited for the first time with my family and I'd like to say that there rib eye steaks are amazing. Melt in your mouth quality. Also I had the seafood platter and it was also refreshing and delicious.

It’s a great place, food is delicious, my wife had a ribeye steak, and I ordered the lamb chops, they were amazing. Service was great!

Decided to stop by after reading so many great reviews for a local business in Downey and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious, cooked to perfection and the portions are more than enough. The lobster bisque had a corn chowders tase with HUGE chunks of lobster and was amazing! Our fish and steak were cooked so perfectly that it melted in your mouth. 10/10 recommend if you are looking for a regular place for a date night.

Honestly I’m not one to write bad reviews unless I’m very unsatisfied l, literally Everything was out no Pepsi, cus apparently the carbon machine was out, no porter house steak either, how this is a steak house, then they didn’t have orange juice for the kids, food was delicious but those lil details honestly give u a sour taste, and I actually love the sister location at buena mesa! I go there regularly I expected better here and honestly I’m disappointed I feel I woulda been more satisfied at a chain steak house! Specially for a tab over $500 bucks, anyway Shout out to the servers tho I know it isn’t their fault at all and they were really nice I’m sure it sucks having to come back everytime saying sorry were out of stuff!

We really wanted to like this place, but we arrived right at our reservation time and it was nearly 10 minutes before we were acknowledged by staff and seated; another 10+ minutes after taking our seats and getting menus, we still didn't even have water. Essentially, after 20 minutes of being ignored, we decided to eat somewhere else.

Well, my wife and I went here for our anniversary and were completely bamboozled, led astray, sheisted!!! We went after hearing about this place on a FB group, all reviews were raving. We get there on this Saturday evening and notice the huge mirror in the corner of the room followed by multiple TVs on the opposite wall. You walk in and a bell rings with the desserts on display at the front door as if it were a Marie Calendars (my wife says it used to be so it makes sense). Also, the neon “open” sign outside should have been another sign to stay away.

The servers were courteous and semi aware of the odd layout of the room. This included the dancing hologram of Super Mario on display. The “wine wall” showed the best that Target and Ralph’s had to offer.

We ordered a Caesar salad along with a beet salad. Beet salad had maybe 2 beets, the Caesar salad had very little dressing. The salads were huge so I’ll give them that you get your moneys worth there..

I ordered a Bone In Ribeye Med Rare that arrived to the table with no bone and not evenly cooked. My wife ordered a Filet, Medium that was parts rare, black and blue and Med Well. I had a side of garlic mashed potatoes that weren’t terrible but not great for a “fancy steakhouse”. My wife ordered the mushroom ragu that was supposed to come with a tomato sauce but it arrived with wild mushrooms and a ton of bell peppers… no sauce.

We had the food boxed and claimed we were so full in order to not eat anymore.

I don’t recommend this place at all. The food did not meet the quality you’d expect for the prices listed. If this place lowered their expectations and prices I think it could be okay, but at this point they seem to be ripping people off. Take the steaks off of the menu, add a couple burgers, more TVs and this place would make a killing as a mediocre run of the mill restaurant. Until then I won’t be returning.

?✨ What an unforgettable birthday celebration at Verdugo’s Meats Salads and Desserts! From the moment we walked in, we felt so special and welcomed by the warm atmosphere and friendly staff.

Our amazing waitress took care of us like we were family, making sure everything was perfect. I indulged in the filet mignon, and let me tell you, it was absolutely divine! Cooked to perfection, each bite was pure bliss. Everything we ordered was delicious.

But that’s not all—one of the highlights of the evening was when the owner himself came over to prepare a special shot for us, completely free of charge! It’s these thoughtful gestures that truly make the experience memorable. He also played a birthday song over the sound system in the restaurant.

As if that wasn't enough, I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary cheesecake and a beautiful birthday song sung just for my daughter. It made her feel so cherished on her special day.

If you’re looking for a place that combines fantastic food with exceptional service and a personal touch, I highly recommend Verdugo’s. Waiting over 10 minutes without any staff or a host attending to you or other customers can be incredibly frustrating. It reflects poorly on the establishment’s management and staffing. It could be due to understaffing, miscommunication, or poor organization, but regardless, it’s not the experience customers should have to deal with. Was really looking forward to celebrating my birthday, but after that experience never again That establishment ??…..

I recently dined at Verdugo for the first time, traveling from Orange County, and I was thoroughly impressed. The food was outstanding—my salad was crisp and fresh, and the rib eye was incredibly tender. Our server, Jessica, provided exceptional service. I highly recommend this place!
