My family and iI took the short trip to Durham today and had a very nice meal at the Durham Deli. It's located on the Midway so it's easy to find. We were able to get a table right away which is always a good thing. You order up at the counter but the server brings the food to your table. They do have house sandwiches but I went the build your own rout. I had a large turkey and pepper jack cheese on Dutch crunch bread along with an iced tea. My son had roast beef and pastrami on sourdough. His wife went with the California Club which is filled all sorts of good stuff. Lastly, my three year old grandson got a slice of pizza. I didn't even know they served pizza so that was a pleasant surprise. The main thing you need to know is that the large is a really big sandwich. This was just a lunch meal so my son and I ended up taking half of our sandwiches home. The food was very good and while I didn't have any my daughter-in-law said she liked her macaroni salad. Durham Deli has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and I look forward to a return visit.

I stumbled upon this delightful deli recently, and it instantly became my favorite spot in town. From the moment I walked in, the warm, inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, helping me navigate their extensive menu with ease.

I like this place and the people that run it. I want it to do well, but they need to pay more attention. Three of the last four times I have called in an order there for to go I have got home and found a mistake on the sandwich: 1. Added tomato instead of pickle 2. No bacon when I ordered it and paid extra for it. 3. Didn't toast it when I asked for it (this has happened twice actually). That's three strikes against them. Still three stars for the food but four strikes and they will definitely be out for me.

Super yummy for my first time, Typing as I eat my Italian sandwich, and it's exactly what I want from a deli sandwich. The Mac salad is super super good too. So glad to have more options close to home! Super friendly staff and clean environment. I'll be going a lot this summer, I'm sure of it!

There posted hours say 11-5 which is kind of strange for a deli. Wouldn't you want to stay open long enough to get the dinner crowd? But when I tried to call an order in at 4:00 they said they were already closed. Why post hours if you are not going to follow them? Had to drive to Chico to our dinner that I planned on getting there. Won't ever be back.

I unfortunately watched the female sandwich artist touch multiple things like the phone, a pen and other things and then continue to make sandwiches without washing her hands or wearing gloves. THEN watched the owner handle cash and a credit card and then go over and assist making sandwiches.... all without washing hands or wearing gloves. Sandwiches are good though. If you're going to make sandwiches in front of people, at least put on a good show and make us think that you're doing it the way the health inspector would want you to.

Had the best lunch yesterday. Totally worth the short drive from chico. Stephanie and Sydney were the best! And you can stop on to the Empire club to grab a quick drink while you wait. Say hi to Melissa and Darcy for me! I got the turkey my sweetheart got the pastrami (I should have ordered the pastrami too it was delicious but my sandwich was the bomb too). Make the trip totally worth it!!

Worst deli ever. Who closes a deli at 5:00?? People work until 5:00. I went there at 430 and couldn’t get a sandwich because they already closed the sandwich bar. Even though I go out of my to support local business I will never go back.

Best damn sandwiches on this side of the Mississippi! When you're enjoying this delicious mouthwatering satisfying deli sandwich in Durham, make sure the door doesn't hit you on the way out when you leave. Here are some words of wisdom from our local redneck peacemakers The Clampers. I guess you can call it a redneck fortune cookie, of course without the cookie and the flippant facetious salt of the earth sarcasm. A conservative gets angry when you lie to them, a liberal gets angry when you tell them the truth!

Finally a deli in downtown Durham that serves up amazing sandwiches! We discovered it by accident today and ate lunch there. Great sandwiches, pastas, and beverages including beer on tap. Sandwiches are good sized as well. While you won't have a vast list of options like some larger delis the food is delicious. For some strange reason they also have no advertising or social media presence. Word of mouth is how they get business.
