Expensive, but what do you expect?

“A Masterclass in Chaos Management” If you’ve ever wanted to witness the live-action version of a soap opera, I highly recommend a visit to the Saturday Market. The lead actress? None other than the organizer herself — a woman with decades of experience but somehow, no memory of it. My mother in-law has known her for 20 years, but she’s starting to think she’s part of a long-running TV show called “Who Are You Again?” Every conversation feels like the pilot episode. Armed with her trusty paper map (which might as well be a treasure map, given the mystery it creates), she prowls the market, scribbling cryptic notes like a detective on a case. Vendors are sent to stalls that are already occupied, and the resulting turf wars are far more entertaining than any Saturday morning cartoons. It’s like musical chairs — but with produce and handmade jewelry. Now, before anyone accuses me of being harsh, let me clarify — this isn’t mean, it’s just reality. Facts aren’t rude, they’re just… inconvenient sometimes. As paying vendors, they have a reasonable expectation of basic organization, not a front-row seat to a live-action episode of “The Stall Shuffle.” If you’re curious, just swing by on a Saturday and witness the slow-motion train wreck for yourself. It’s free entertainment (unlike the stall fees we pay for the privilege of participating in this circus). At this point, I’m convinced the market could be run more efficiently by a random passerby or maybe one of the pigeons that frequent the area. Change is overdue, and if anyone’s taking nominations for “Organizer of the Year,” I know exactly who not to vote for. Nelson City Council

Heke Homemade Herbals

Huge variety of Nelson Artisans with unique food and drink products, both pre-packaged and to consume on the day. A vast array of fruit and vege stalls, seedlings, beauty products, clothes, bags, upholstered goods, wood, leather and so much more. A large, vibrant market that is a must see for any visitor and is a weekly treat for Nelsonians. We love having a stall there. Highly recommend.
