I can’t say enough good things about The Red Rooster in Durham! From the moment you walk in, it feels like home, especially if you’re lucky enough to get Mama Theresa as your server. Her service is absolutely impeccable; she treats you like family and makes sure your coffee and smile are always full.
The portions? Absolutely massive and downright delicious. I had the prime rib breakfast, and wow perfectly pink, melt-in-your-mouth prime rib, crispy hash browns, and eggs done just right. The pancakes are as big as the plate and come with that glorious scoop of butter that melts into every bite. And the prices? Let’s just say I almost felt guilty for paying so little for food this good.
If you’re anywhere near Durham, stop at The Red Rooster. Ask for Mama Theresa, you’ll walk out happy and full, already planning your next visit. Everything will be back on my table next time I’m here!

I have been going here for years. You’re not gonna find a more lovely place to eat or more dedicated staff and servers than at The Red Rooster! All their food is excellent in my opinion! Do yourself a favor and have breakfast, brunch or lunch there; yummy food, caring attentive staff and down-home lovely atmosphere!

It is a very busy popular restaurant. The food was good, service could have been a little better. I know they were very busy while we were there, but the waitress could have been a little better. My food came out luke warm. It was good, but I am guessing would have been a lot better hot. Over all I would go back and give it another try.

Wheelchair accessibility: Yes it is wheelchair accessible. Also had a bathroom for someone with a wheelchair.
This place is a lost piece of Americana - the small town diner. Menu has everything you would expect at a country diner, portions are large, food is prepared expertly, prices are very low, and the service is great. I wish there were more places like this.
