Decent for a quick grocery run if it’s on the way. I’m leaving 3 stars because it’s close to the freeway and I think the area really needed an Asian grocery store. The bakery items are also baked in house and good value.
Overall it’s a pretty underwhelming experience compared to other Asian grocery stores in the bay. Sunnyvale Mega Mart has better selection.
Supposedly this location was planned out to mimic Mega Mart layouts in Korea, however I don’t think it’s applied well here. I think the maze layout is supposed to encourage “variety seeking buying” (think Ikea and Trader Joe’s). However there’s just little variety of products and too much shelf space that it becomes tedious to walk through. Even Ikea has shortcuts through their maze layout if you don’t feel like browsing.
As grocery store in general, it lacks 2 important things. No butcher section—all the meat is prepackaged and frozen. Seafood is all prepackaged and no tanks for live fish like at HMart or 99 Ranch. I grabbed a pack of hot pot pork out of the freezer and it showed 2 labels of both pork and lamb…? I also saw prep packaged clams that were all open.
Lastly, I’m super disappointed they don’t have bossam in their prepped food section!!!

I’ve been to Mega Mart a few times since its opening. I like how the store is clean and well lit. The hot food and nigiri sections have plenty of choices. Nigiri always looks very fresh and is priced right. But I like the takeout counter the most. You can choose your fav bento box with meat, veggies, and rice.
The rest of the market has fruits, very few fresh veggies, a large section of frozen meats ready for hot pot, and all kinds of packaged Korean snacks and drinks.
I’d visit more often if they stock more fresh Asian vegetables. This will definitely attract more customers. PA needs an Asian market and I really like your store to make it!

So glad mega mart opened near me! Very reasonable prices and hot food offer plenty of variety. Hot food goes on sale at the end of the day as well!
