Walked in and wasn’t greeted by a host which is okay, but we were there for like three minutes before anyone seated us. Our server took about five minutes to get to our table to get our order. Ordered chips and salsa that took about 20 minutes to come out and there was such a small amount of salsa it was gone way before the chips. Waited another 25 minutes for our food to come out. It was packed inside but I don’t think that should be a problem if there’s enough servers and kitchen staff. Seems like their team can’t handle a large crowd of patrons. Our server was pretty inattentive in my opinion but I don’t know what else was all happening. Also the bathroom stand of sewage really bad and had some overflow from the drain which gives me a bad feeling with the water and plumbing. Won’t be returning. Food was good though but as good as the food I make at home, nothing life changing, felt very overpriced. Portions were good sizes.

Place seems trendy but gives off more of a club vibe than restaurant.. Our waitress was not very attentive and our food took about an hour to come out. Let's just say it wasn't worth the wait.

Food is good but very pricey. A taco plate is $21 for 3 tacos, rice and beans Service is terrible, the servers are not attentive at all.

Food was good, but the service was extremely slow. They took a long time to take our order and even longer to receive our food.

OK, so El Centro is not really known as a tourist destination, much less a foodie hot spot; but with CRAZY GOOD food like this, maybe that will change.
I am in El Centro for business and one of the locals recommended I try D’Poly. That was an excellent choice. I’ve been all over México and I can say without a doubt, D’Poly could easily hold its own against any taqueria in México.
I ordered a Mezcalita which is the more mature and interesting version of a margarita. College kids chug margaritas: grown-up savor Mezcalitas! The maracuya (aka passion fruit for all the gringos) Mezcalita was ON FIRE … so smoky and spicy and with a bitter sweetness from the maracuya. 100% DELICIOSO!
I then moved on to three different tacos: fish, carnitas, and lengua. The fish taco was perfectly fried in a light batter that was actually crunchy with every bite and the fish inside was moist and sweet. I added the house made sauce which looks like a mix of ketchup and mayo but tastes WAY BETTER, and every bite transported me to Ensenada … SO FRICKIN GOOD! Easy 10 out of 10.
I then moved on to the carnitas which was also incredible: it had a tiny bit of crunch (like it’s supposed to from browning the pork) and a rich porcine flavor, a wee bit like bacon. I give it a 9 out of 10, only because the meat could have used a tad more juiciness.
Finally, I ate the lengua and this one was a tiny bit disappointing as there was a more mild flavor than I am used to, so it lacked the very rich flavor I was expecting. However, it was still moist and, with a medium salsa added, I devoured all of it. I give this taco a 7 of 10.
Add in the fresh plate of salsas and cucumber and cabbage and overall, D’Poly gets a solid 9 of 10.
Add in this joint’s very cool vibe and this is a great place to eat alone (full food service at the bar) or bring a date.
Do yourself a favor if you are anywhere near El Centro (it’s only a couple minutes off I-8) and get your taco on at D’Poly.
PROVECHO!

The best burritos in the valley. Cold tap beer is a plus. Food variety is very good. The atmosphere here is always joyful. People come here to socialize and enjoy great food and drinks. Service here is a plus. Waitresses are very attentive and courteous.

Restaurantji Recommends
My first time here, for my birthday today. I had the carne asada burrito with the lemonade. My aunt had the chiles rellenos with Jamaica. They give you tortilla chips with guacamole dip for appetizers. The food was very good and it didn't take long at all to be delivered. I also had the choco-flan dessert, which was also good and it was prepared beautifully. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to have dinner or lunch for a special occasion. Not very expensive either. $3(s) $4(m) $5(L) drinks. The entree meals average around $15 and side meals are about $8. The only downside is they only have 3 desserts to choose from. It would be nice if they had a larger selection. Otherwise, very nice restaurant.
