South Fork Grille El Dorado Hills

Same company as Land and Ocean with a totally different food experience.

Since we had some money remaining on our gift card, we decided to stop at South Fork Grille on our way home from a full day of driving.

Fortunately, we arrive in time for happy hour. They offered a lot of happy hour food selections. We tried the grilled fish tacos. The two fish tacos were delicious and the serving size was generous. The fish was flaky and flavorful. Not sure what sauce they used, but it reminded me of a miso dressing.

For desert we split the Gold Rush Ice Cream Pie. It consisted of an Oreo Cookie crumb crust, coffee ice cream, whipped cream, slivered toasted almonds and chocolate and caramel drizzles. It was more than enough to split between two people. Absolutely one of the best desserts I have had in years.

I would definitely go back to this restaurant again, but not Land and Ocean.

Was very disappointed eating here considering all the positive reviews. The ambiance is 11/10 and the drinks were great but the food leaves a lot to be desired.

We started with the skillet meatballs which were hard and lacking in flavor. I had the airplane chicken, which I found to be quite dry. My boyfriend had the burger, which he enjoyed but said the bacon add on was tough and chewy. The menu is uninspired and the plating is unappetizing. Won’t be returning, especially because there are a lot of other options in the area.

Sat at Bobby’s section. The patio view was gorgeous. Wasn’t too hot outside. The Daou Rose was delicious, also had the blackberry lemon drop
Not too sweet. It was refreshing. The tuna roll was the best and the tuna pieces was chunky and fresh. Wish it was spicer. The shrimp roll
Was ok. The Brussels were delicious, and the smashed burger was excellent. We double our order for another spicy tuna roll. Happy hour here was pretty good. Service was excellent. I would be back for dinner.

Second time in a couple of weeks. Each time the food was tasty and hot, but the service was horrible. Slow slow slow. Drinks took forever. Water took forever. Ordering took forever. I’m guessing they are way understaffed. Won’t be going back until the staffing improves.

Best location for the perfect restaurant, South Fork in El Dorado Hills. The Service was excellent and the food delicious. Cocktails are appetizers looked amazingly tasty and we could not have had a better experience. Thank you.

Put a reservation in for Father’s Day a month in advance and when asked for outdoor seating family was placed around a dirty fireplace with cigarette butts all over and no room for a proper meal. Open seating all around for at least 40 minutes after and no one accommodated. Bit disappointing especially since it’s for a celebration.

Clean great service great food got a ribeye steak. My husband got to Ahi tuna it’s pricey, but it is worth it the bartender and the bar area they make great drinks. I highly recommend going there. Park behind the restaurant and walk in the back door. It’s a beautiful wonderful place to eat Lunch or dinner. Just ask about their menu and they’ll sell you a dinner item at lunchtime if you need it.

My friend and I spent a lovely afternoon on the outside patio. We shared a tempura shrimp roll for an appetizer which was excellent. For the main course we each had the fish and chips. Once you taste the Chilean sea bass, you will never go back to the standard cod or halibut that most places utilize for their fish and chips. A memorable tasting surprise!
The food was shared with an excellent bottle of Justin Isosceles Cabernet. Throughout the 3 hours spent on the patio, the service was outstanding; thank you Bobby!

Great consistent food and service. Charming location. Have known some of the staff longer than the restaurant and you're in good hands. Especially Brian and Jackie!
