TLDR: Excellent, authentic Chinese food. Service is mediocre, but not as bad as finding parking when the small, nearby lot is full. ------ I've visited Mr. Chopsticks for almost 20 years - since I was a child. It's always been a local favorite, and it is always well priced. Neither were unique to my childhood. I visited Mr. Chopsticks again today and not much has changed. The prices are extremely affordable - may I argue underpriced - and the taste is always authentic. You know it's authentic because the older generation of Chinese people frequent this location for lunch - a full house at noon on a weekday?! I ordered the shrimp scrambled eggs and chines broccoli (gai lan) with beef. Both dishes were extremely tasty, with the egg a little too salty and the gai lan too slippery to pick up with their chopsticks. The wait time for a table and the food was approximately 20 minutes, and dining in comes with free soup as well, which was also tasty! The soup was well flavored and sweet, and their tea was also a pleasure to enjoy. The only con - as other reviews may state - is service. They always feel understaffed, and the staff that are there are sometimes rude. Another concern is that customers frequently get up and get their own takeout boxes, napkins, utensils, etc. because waiting for staff takes a while.

Yes, the service is trash but the food and prices are bomb. This place serves authentic Cantonese food and the portions are huge while prices remain very affordable. Come during lunch hours for the lunch menu where it's even more affordable. No wonder this place is every Chinese family's favorite.

It took over an hour for ordering to go. The actual must be on vacation. Every dishes were so blended. Pork Chop with Pepper Salt - missing pepper salt -so taste at all. Half of them are fat. Calamari with pepper salt - again - no taste at all. Stir fried veggie was sweet - did you guys mixed salt and sugar. It looks like I will only come back dinner, not lunch.

Ordered this winter-melon soup for a potluck gathering. One of their "well known" dishes. We had around 9-10 people and it has more than enough since they weren't able to finish it. Serving size they said is for 15 people. It was great and perfect for the summer temperature! Highly recommend this soup.

I have been to this place numerous times since its opening. The owner has changed, but the foods are still good. The prices went up, but it is still a good deal. There is a time when the winter melon soup is unavailable, but I am glad the restaurant brings it back. I ordered the 貴妃雞, which is very good. The place is pack on a weeknights, and reservation is strongly recommended.

The flavor of this place was insane. My friend brought us here because it has always been his families go to spot for dinner. Glad we came here because the food was delicious for real! Fried rice was made perfectly well, the walnut shrimp was wooooooooooowww. So yummmm. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures because when it all came out, I was too memorized by the smell and freshness of the food. I dug right in and totally forgot about my pictures. HA! Service was good too and the parking was fairly easy. They even grow a few of their own veggies right out on the side of their restaurant. Love it! I definitely recommend this place!

Food is good, but too slow. We ordered 4 dishes and waited for an hour to find out the 4th dish was still not ready. We ended up canceling the last dish. The waiters there are unhelpful with bad attitude. We asked twice about our dishes, and both time they didn't go check. It was until the third time they went into the kitchen to check, but came back without telling us anything.. We had to tell the lady at the end to cancel the order so we can make it to our next appt on time! I recommend the food, but will suggest to go during weekdays when there are less people. Otherwise, you might go in for lunch and came out seeing the sunset XD!

Came here for dinner on a Sunday night and man was it packed! Definitely ordered way too much food but it was delicious .. the noodles could use a bit more sauce... but the honey walnut d as groom was yummy and the duck was cooked perfectly and was tender and crispy! I feel like the duck was great but they were skimpy on the green onions and the chow mein was a bit dry...but overall the food was delicious I'd eat here again

Dear friends of my parents invited my Mom, my brothers, and me to lunch at Mr. Chopsticks Seafood. I don't remember ever dining here when I was younger, but my Dad's friend said it was a regular hang out place for them. Anyway, my Dad is no longer with us, but I know he was there with us in spirit. Thank you Dad! They have some great lunch specials. There were 6 of us and we ordered 8 dishes... pan fried string bean, salt and pepper shrimp, chicken wings, and squid, kung pao shrimp, black bean squid, peking pork chop, and beef chow fun. Everything was so delicious... food wasn't too oily, just the right amount of oil, just the right amount of salt and pepper on shrimp and chicken wings. The only two things that could have been better was salt and pepper squid... needed more s&p and the beef chow fun... the noodles were too thin, didn't feel like the real deal beef chow fun, they need to use wider noodles and add a little bit more soy sauce. Portions were huge. Prices are very reasonable. Staff was friendly and pleasant. Food came out timely... didn't wait too long before all of them came out. They did get really busy by noon time so if you want to avoid the crowds, get here when they open at 11:00 AM. By the time we left, all tables were occupied and people were waiting near the doors. Funny, the English name of the restaurant doesn't really fit the Chinese name of the restaurant. But hey, it doesn't really matter. We're not here for the name, we're here for the foods! Happy Dining!

I like their dessert. It calls "Steam milk pudding." Check my first picture. It was very delicious. Other foods are not bad but they need to improve environment; too many flys around, and in between table and table to squeeze.

I came here with my husband and parents in law. They choose this location for lunch and it was my first time here. They have pretty decent food here and for the price for lunch. The portion size is a nice size for the price. There are many selection and different pricing for certain dish. I really love their fried whole fish. I would come back here to try other dishes, since they have a lot of selections. The service is not that great here and the food comes out pretty slow. This is located in the Chase plaza, across from Sam's club.

Great food! It's been a while since I have had good tasting Hong Kong cuisine without it being overly oily and chock full of MSG. I was there with family for dinner on a Sunday night and the customers just kept coming, and rightly so. The flavor of each dish has enough of the smokiness from the wok. Their squab and winter melon soup are also some of the best I have ever had. However, with every good Chinese restaurant, the service is limited so please do not expect much. They are way under staffed so please be patient and understanding if they may take a little longer. Other than that, do not skip over this hole in the wall. You will not regret it if flavor is king.

Some good stuff to eat. The bomb sizzle. The hidden gem of El Monte. My new discovery. I was recommended by family and the food did not disappoint me. I love it. The pork fried rice is to die for. The bomb sizzle. There is a wait time but worth it to me.
