Pretty great find! The fam and I stopped by for a nieve de garrafa and ended up super happy that we decided to try this place as opposed to La Michoacana. The nieve is delicious and they have many different sizes to choose from at unbeatable prices. Bring cash, they take card but charge $1 for it. Excited to come back for nieve and to try their other snack options!
They serve really good Japanese matcha ice cream in South El Monte at this location for only $2 and $3 a cup. It is also my favorite spot for Chamango. I love this place. It is also surrounded by 3 Vietnamese food places and a Chinese style sugar cane juice in the same plaza. The older Chinese people also travel from all over the world for the Chinese herb shop next door. I do wish they would have boba on their menu so I do not have to travel all the way down into South El Monte at the 7Leaves to get boba. I was telling my friends from Shibuya about the awesome Asian food scene in South El Monte and how hidden gem spots like this serving Japanese and Nieve ice cream make the community so vibrant.
Always fresh!
This has to be the best spot.
This place was a 5 out of 5 star ice cream spot
unfortunately, with that being said they have now raised their prices but their product remains the same. They've lost my business.
Great nieve de garrafa and great prices! Great variety for flavors too, no complaints there. My only and BIGGEST complaint is the absolute garbage of an esquite. 0 flavor, the corn was dry and had an awful taste. 3 bites and I threw it away, nothing could help that poor excuse of an esquite. Stay away from it unless you want to vomit. With that being said, I'll be coming back for it's nieve, and fruit/thier advertised pico de gallo(cut fruit). I'm willing to try everything else they have as well. Customer service was 50/50, depends on who attends you. Can't give a higher review cause of the god awful esquite.
PLEASE don’t get the esquite. I tried this place out since I had a craving for some fresh fruit. Fruit was fine. However, my husband was looking forward to the esquite. Something tasted off about the elote, and the smell was pungent, so we immediately had to throw it away! We are avid esquite enthusiasts, and this wasn’t it, unfortunately.
what a great find. friend and I came over with a craving for an ice and he found this place. I'd never heard of it and now I crave it. excellent flavors -- I got cucumber and lemon, he got chamoy and mango. And all for well under ten bucks. Outstanding. Worth the drive
Vegetarian options: I think most of the ices don't have cream
