It's an almost 30 yr fam institution, so who am I to question with that longevity, but I don't get it. Just pretty ordinary Neopolitan Italian with a mostly standard menu. Lots of daily choices. Honey in a nice simple way but not special that I could see after trying several salads, nicely presented, and eggplant Parm, all of which were fine but not close to exceptional. Others in my party are regulars, so this works for some, but despite the warm and interesting chef who came by and chatted briefly, just another spot, albeit its Encino location, which is somewhat of a good restaurant desert, may make it a good local option. Don't want to mess with 30 years of a fam biz. Just different expectations, I guess.

Saw amazing reviews online, and ordered a pizza to go. The crust, The taste and everything was incredible, however in a very small package. I was kind of surprised when I saw the box and saw that it was the size of a personalized pizza for the size of a large. You do get what you pay for. It's a family oriented, kitchen that looks amazing. I have never eaten there but I'm inclined to dine in next time for an authentic Italian experience.

The BEST homemade pizza and pasta in LA?. And I even got to practice my Italian dialect ?

Vegetarian options: Many. choices.

Dietary restrictions: I am gluten-free, but when I go there, I eat everything. But it’s wonderful that they do cater to vegetarians vegans and gluten-free and I appreciate that. I think Restaurant should be like that in my opinion

We’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and tonight was it, and it did not disappoint.

The menu offers something for everyone and it is fresh, flavorful and delicious. They offer a variety of soups, I had a puréed cauliflower soup that was so velvety smooth, chicken in a fig balsamic sauce, lobster ravioli and spaghetti with a light and flavorful marinara. My husband had a beautiful starter of burrata & pear, so good He had the Saltimboca which he devoured. Good portion sized meals. Finished with a lovely piece of tiramisu and chocolate soufflé with gelato. We both just ate and barely spoke to each other. ?

Even the bread served at the beginning with an olive tapenade was hot and delicious.

The chef is amazing in both personality and skill. The staff is friendly and gives excellent service.

A must try and a must return! I already know what my next order will be out on the patio.

Came in for lunch on a weekday. The guys are very nice, food is superb and nice intimate setting indoors and extended seating outside. The lunch special is great, I ordered the chicken parm which is lightly breaded and includes pasta or polenta, soup or salad and a drink for $20. The restaurant is on the second floor so it's easy to miss. Highly recommend.

I originally came to this restaurant with my friend for a dinner wanting to try a different restaurant and then I brought my husband for a date night and we keep going back! We truly never knew italian food until we tried Gio's. Everything is so delicious and authentic. Tonight we had brusccheta, clams and muscles in a superb sauce, steak and seafood trio with lobster and clams and for dessert we had the tiramasu and homemade truffles with Gelato. There are no words to describe this fantastic food, cozy atmosphere and all the employees are so polite and lovely! Tonight we met Jessica who is so sweet we were so happy to find out the restaurant is family owned and operated. Chef Roberto makes the best Italian food in SoCal. We will be back for many more date nights!

Love this restaurant! Food is fantastic and the service is outstanding. Whenever we eat here, the staff makes us feel like family. They have an ever changing list of delicious specials, and the "house made" pasta is awesome. Bravo Gio Cucina!

I was fortunate enough to discover this place thanks to the recommendation of a co-worker. My only expectation was “fresh, delicious Italian food.” Definitely upon arriving I was able to have a restaurant experience that I had never had before in my life. To begin with, this is not the typical American restaurant that serves you giant portions of food, my first impression was: what a cozy place, such friendly people and finally a place where they serve portions of normal food. But from the moment you taste the first bite you realize that it is not the quantity but the QUALITY of Italian food that they sell here, absolutely everything is made right here, even the pasta is made in front of you, there is nothing canned, everything It is fresh and organic. I've been coming back for over a year and bringing friends and family. No one has been disappointed. I have no words to describe how delicious the food is here, the friendly and personalized attention they give, because it is also a whole family that works in the business and they make you feel like one of them. The best thing is that if something is not on the menu, they will still prepare it for you or adapt their options to your cravings. This place is a hidden gem and I wish more people had the joy of visiting a place like this in their lives.

Awesome Family run Italian restaurant. Staff are super friendly and customer service is great. Pastas are a must try. Everything on the menu is customizable and they'll probably make anything you ask for! They also gave us some ice cream (passion, berry & coconut) on the house!!10/10 would recommend

Small upstairs restaurant. Food was very good- we had the tagliatelle "Jake" , Saltimboca, and cacio d'pepe. The pasta was all fresh made, with very nice sauces. Service was just right. The dinner was very enjoyable.Parking in front and in the back of the building.
