Fast service, friendly atmosphere. Lots of elder customers, so that's nice.

Reviewing the chili, though: too salty, lacking in texture, and flavor is strong but not in a good way, more like undistinguishable. Maybe the blending of too many flavors? Either way, I tried to finish the bowl, it was simply not tasty (and I'm not easily critical with food). I will try other soups, so I may update this review later.

We've eaten here a few times and it was good. But recently we were sat in the middle area and encountered bugs in and around our table so this place is off the list.

Uncle Bernie’s Delicatessen in Encino is more than just a spot to grab a bite – it’s a place that feels like home. I find myself here nearly every day of the week, drawn by the warmth and care of the people who make this place special. Janet, my regular waitress, always goes above and beyond, making each visit feel like a treat. And then there’s Nancy, who’s always ready with a smile and somehow always lands me at Table 12 – a happy little ritual that makes me feel like part of the family.

The food, of course, is wonderful. I’d especially recommend the matzoh ball soup and half a sandwich on rye – pure comfort on a plate. But what truly makes Uncle Bernie’s so special isn’t just what’s on the menu; it’s the kindness and heart in every small interaction. This is more than a deli; it’s a community. Thank you, Uncle Bernie for making each meal memorable.

I wanted to check out their to-go lunch options. After waiting about 5 minutes at the counter (I was the only person in line), a staff member asked me what I wanted, handed me a pretty dirty menu, and left. At that point I was already frustrated and decided not to wait anymore. There are lots of other places in the area with much better customer service.

A party of three decide to have Rosh Hashanah dinner at Uncle Bernies. We had the Holiday meal for $34.99 each. When the main course was served it was very sloppy. The grilled salmon looked liked it was broiled. It had no taste. The roasted potatoes were horrible very salty, the sweet potatoes tasted like carrots. The only good thing out of the whole meal was the rice pudding. No matter how busy you are, how you serve your customers says alot about your restaurant. Not eating there again!

Large dining area plus tables in front. Saw website on a roadtrip needed lunch. Love Jewish Deli...Shared the large Hot pastrami on sourdough and the homemade chips were light fluffy best chips we've ever had. Large slices dill pickles were yummy too. Thank you!
