Everything about this place was a yes. The restaurant itself has the small town diner charm and the staff is friendly and attentive. The food was super good and very reasonable prices. I will definitely come here again.

My server Alys, the cook Ricardo, and cashier Emma made me and my fiancés day! We stoped in for a quick bite to eat for the first time and was met with some of the best customer service with a smile and one of the very best double bacon mouth watering cheeseburgers that I have ever tasted! Alys was on top of her game, made me feel like I was family! She manicured our table really well and made sure our drinks was always full and also made sure we had everything possible to enjoy our lunch! Emma was great also and made sure to let us know that she would love to see us back soon! 10+ stars for this awesome establishment in the heart of Escalon! Thanks for having employees like these 3 ? we can’t wait to go back soon for some more tasty food and a nice home style friendly environment!

Response to the owners response to my review: Nobody asked me what side I wanted, so I assumed they were a la cart. The chowder I tried while at a red light, as it had a spoon that came in it, and yes it was only a minute or two after I left. I've driven from Modesto with soup in the same type of Styrofoam containers and it still arrived hot, 20 minutes later at home. It was cold, bottom line. I didn't mind the toasted buns, but the inside of the hotdog was over done and dry. It's an honest review that you could've taken as constructive criticism to improve things, rather than not take accountability. My husband's not even a picky person, and he didn't finish the food...Service was friendly, but the food was mediocre. Clam chowder was cold, the bacon wrapped hotdogs were dry. I did enjoy the trip tip nacho fries. I wish the girl had mentioned to me that the dogs came with fries. I ordered the tri tip fries because I thought they came by themselves.

Went in there today at 7:40pm. They took our food and drink order. We got our drinks but an hour later still no food. They never checked on us, just kept helping the other customers. Once we realized they were about to close and they were already cleaning the kitchen we just left. Never plan on going back. Not sure why we were ignored and treated like that. Maybe my skin wasn’t light enough.

My wife and I ate at hulas for breakfast on the way to black oak the breakfast was delicious the burgers are delicious good service coffee is delicious our new breakfast joint a must go.

PHENOMENAL. Rolled in around 8pm and the girls were cheerful and polite. Patrons inside were having desserts which looked to die for. The Potato skins appetizer aren't the typical wedges (of literal skin) that one would expect, they are whole russet potatoes! Cut in half and slightly hollowed with all the good stuff on top. Little heavy on the green onion for me but thats personal preference, was delicious. We were stuffed after sharing just the app between 2 of us but somehow managed to smack down the our entire burgers too. We couldn't resist. My boyfriend got the chipotle burger and he devoured before I could ask for a taste. Slightly spicy but he enjoyed the flavor! I had the Bog Kahuna (I think) with jalapeños, bacon, and subbed American cheese. Should be rolled home in a wheel barrel!! Thanks Hulas!

There's always a long wait in this drive-through but man is it worth it!!!! I will wait an hour for their food. It's absolutely worth it. They have the best food in the entire world and the best milkshakes you've ever had. This is a must try!!! 10 stars from us!!!

I finally made a point to stop at Hula's after years of driving this stretch of road and I'm glad I did! My friend and I both ordered the Escalon Burger and thought it was a good burger. The $2 pints of draft 805 were also a great way to end a big day. The staff were also really friendly and kind. All of our servers were excellent. And I thought it was really sweet when one of them asked if my dog could have bacon (I said yes!) and later returned with a bowl of water, a few strips of bacon, and some extra dog treats for her. The covered outdoor seating, with parts of it under a real roof, also makes this a good dog-friendly option even in rainy weather.
