The Cremer House was an amazing eatery, serving up friendly service and local brews; unfortunately, this establishment closed last year. I understand that it will reopen some time in 2021 as one of the locations of Humblesea Brewery, a local and well-loved establishment.
I went there a few months after it opened and the staff was extremely rude to me after they told me I could take a seat and then they kicked me out 5 seconds later for taking somebody seat. You could have made it right and have good customer service but that's just another reason I will not spend my money in the Santa Cruz area even though I live here.
This restaurant is my favorite. I visit many restaurants but to this restaurant I constantly return again and again. The crew is very friendly and the cuisine they place on your table is so good. I am always happy to have a good dinner here. Highly recommended.
I eat here a lot since I work nearby. I love how their service is always awesome and they keep the spot well kept regularly. Prices are fair and they serve generous portions.
Literally can’t have fried chicken or a bomb sandwich for lunch with out being inspired or thinking “creamer did it better” Literally ruined food for me! Lol in the best way possible! Wish I knew the chefs! Tho I’m sure their talents are coveted by all and it’s hard for them to make true friends with such delicious skill! I bid them the best luck in life making true friends who love them for more then their culinary talent!? On a real note, they bring the bar up to the top for American cuisine, when it comes to fresh and delicious ingredients, sourcing them from local providers really helps elevate the flavors, and almost pairs them with the air around the restaurant. Staff is hard working, always charming, and have had everything they’re not allergic to on the menus! I know I did! Miss this place with all my heart!
The food is always great. There is often a wait so don't arrive too hungry.
Delicious veggie burger with beets. Great beers. The wait to be seated can be long but it is worth it.
I stumbled upon The Cremer House after visiting Henry Cowell Redwoods. After 3 days in the Santa Cruz area and tons of recommendations to other places that turned out to be mediocre and expensive, we decided why not check it out. I am beyond happy with that choice!! We were seated at a great little table for two. The bar was hustling and yet the place wasn’t overly loud. I could easily carry on a conversation with my husband. I couldn’t decide between the Cremer burger or the fish and chips basket. The server said I could not go wrong with either. Our server, Jenny, by the way was fantastic! She was friendly and attentive. I ordered the Cremer burger and it was fantastic. I can’t recall a time when I’ve had a more flavorful burger, the beef was cooked medium and simply had so much flavor. I opted for a side spring salad instead of fries and that was fabulous!! Finally a great dinner on my trip!! I left feeling so satisfied!!So we decided to go back the next night. This time I had the fish and chips basket. They were great, better than any I’d found on the wharf, plus I love that they used cod as the fish as I’m not a big fan of halibut. Personally I didn’t care for the tarter sauce (theirs is an interesting twist but I’m kind of a traditionalist when it comes to my tarter sauce so it’s not them, it’s me) but I tried the ranch I was dipping my incredibly yummy fries in and wouldn’t you know, the ranch goes great with the fish as well. They’re ranch dressing is amazing! And we decided to finish up our evening by splitting a pot of decaf and the warm brownie topped with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Perfection!!!Extras:•We had dinner both nights around 5:30pm which seemed to be a little before the place got busy.•There is parking behind the restaurant and it’s shared with a grocer so we had no problem finding a spot.•The bathrooms were roomy and clean!! (This I’m finding to be a rare occurrence in most restaurants)•They also have indoor and outdoor seating as well as a bar with plenty on tap.
Great food. I always get the reuben but from what my eyes tell me everything the kitchen puts out looks like it was made with knowledge and care. The Cremer House is a special place for me, I have a friend who lives nearby who always meets me there for food and some ciders when I'm visiting in California.
My husband and I were on vacation and was looking online at the local restaurants. We saw that this restaurant served a pretzel that sounded delish. We were not real hungry so we went in and had the pretzel and a beer. It was big enough for 2 people and was amazing. The staff was great and we would go back if we lived there

They have the best pretzels and solid lunch food. Good wine and beer/cider menu and just started to offer cocktails! Dog friendly too so bring your doggo if you like!
Consistently good food, and great service!
We live in the area and come here often. The service is friendly, the food quality is consistently satisfying and they change up their menu seasonally to keep things fresh. Their beet burger is fabulous. Really. But so is the hamburger, so every taste is being served :) Their beer menu offers a great variety and also changes seasonally. Chef Henry has a flair for taking the menu fun places. inventive tacos, and the best short ribs ever.
delicious food, fun atmosphere, great beer menu and friendly service
I tried the bison gnocchi and it was delicious but it really needed more meat balls.
