Finally took a trip to this saloon and it won't be our last! The bartender Laura Lee was a sweetheart and made a great Kentucky Mule. We noticed they had some local craft spirits from Etna, which is less than an hour away. Always appreciate a bar that supports local distilleries! The owner was coming in later that evening to cook up burgers but we had to carry on down the road before dark. Definitely check this place out. Oh and they have gas 24/7!

Salmon River Saloon is a remote and unique place, situated in an isolated area with no other options for 40 miles. The owner, a friendly and laid-back person, welcomes visitors to this rustic bar decorated with items that each tell a story. The saloon is off the grid but offers all the comforts thanks to its well-designed solar system. It is a place where both locals and travelers can relax and enjoy a cold beer, with the convenience of Wi-Fi and Venmo payment options. The saloon has a rich history dating back to the CCC days and has served as a haven for laborers and travelers for many years. Visitors often find the location beautiful, with a magnificent drive along the river in both directions. The full bar is exceptionally clean, and the place also features a gas station that is probably well needed. Wild horses roam the area, adding to the charm. If riding a Harley Davidson, this is a great destination bar at the end of a ride. The owners are accommodating, and if anyone is unsure about opening hours or visiting with a group, they can call ahead and they will likely open just for them. The historic location from the 19th-century mining era offers plenty to explore and discover in all directions.
