Excellent service. We took our dog. Dogs can walk through dining area. My leg is healing so I can carry 20 lb dog. Server carried dog to our outside table!!! VERY kind and helpful. 1

Trigger Warning: Spiders in rice

While on vacation in Mendocino, my husband and I stopped in for brunch. I ordered a white mocha and a chicken sandwich—both were tasty. We really enjoyed the patio atmosphere and loved watching the otters splash around. My husband ordered the fish tacos and was happily eating… until he moved on to the rice and noticed tiny spiders in it.

We immediately felt nauseous and alerted our server. He disappeared for a while, came back to take the plate to the kitchen, and returned with our check. Their solution? A $2 discount.

No manager ever came to speak with us, which felt deeply unsettling. Whether it was a prep issue or a larger hygiene problem, the lack of accountability was disappointing. I didn’t get a photo, we just wanted to pay and leave immediately, but it was absolutely gross and ruined what started as a lovely meal.

Highly recommend Princess Seafood instead—their fish tacos were well-seasoned, fresh, and cooked to perfection. We had a far better overall experience at all the local Fort Bragg/Albion/Mendocino restaurants.

Eggs Benedict with crab substituted was amazing! Captains platter was good, fish batter was undercooked. Scallops were amazing. Great Bloody Mary and amazing blueberry mimosa. Beautiful view and the outside heaters were a nice touch.

Such a hidden gem but yet very popular. Tucked up among the trees overlooking the harbor. The food was soooo good and presented wonderfully. The service was great and attentive. Visit Laura at the bar! She has a few tasty cocktails to offer you!

Fantastic meal! Awesome environment. Peaceful setting out on the patio with multiple heaters. Wine list was extensive. Plenty of cocktail options. Seasonal menu and nightly specials from starters and drinks to main courses and desserts. Service was prompt, attentive, and very friendly.

Was finally sat at a table and forgotten. The tables outside have a beautiful view but it was so loud I could hear every single table's conversation. I left without having any food or a drink because I left when others were served that came after me

Today we had a special lunch celebration after scattering the ashes of our beloved friend.
I want to thank everyone at the Harbor View Bistro for making this lunch so very special. The food was awesome, and the service was perfect. Attentive, caring and professional. Everything was just as I wanted! I forgot to take pictures, but everyone loved their food and drinks! What a special restaurant. Thank you!

This restaurant absolutely should not be 4.2 stars. Incredible food, our server Serenity was so kind and gave excellent recommendations, and the view is insane. Well worth the drive from San Francisco, and I will absolutely be back.
