Walked by and there was a note on the door saying their last day was Jan 1, 2019. Will miss them as a decent dim sum option close to the office.

CLOSED After 26 Years of Dim Sum, Banquets, BBQ, and Cantonese food in Foster City

Ok, went with a large group and decided that the food remains ok and greasy, but the service was quite good for a Saturday. They seated us quickly despite "being confused" about the reservation. The food came quickly. All the cards were accepted without issue.

As thought my initial review of this restaurant had fully saved and in checking it again, I saw that it didn't. The cleanliness has changed drastically, over the years, from the years when it initially opened. The recipes... the usual delectable dishes we have been accustomed to ordering over the years, has greatly changed!! We have noticed they've been slowly introducing cheaper ingredients. Every weekend possible we would enjoy an array of wonderful fresh dim sum. However, things have changed! They used to have beautiful fresh fish and crustaceans available in their tanks... which was delightful to share how to choose the freshest ones with our children. And even this has changed! We've seen questionable numbers of products that we didn't feel were safe to consume! By the way so much has gone down hill... I think it is pretty obvious that either the owner's no longer care about the quality? Or the cook has lost his love for the art of cooking!! It's insulting to pay such high prices for dishes that are prepared in a manner that is made by some of the lower classed restaurants in areas where it is difficult to obtain fresh ingredients... However, this restaurant is not located in a rural region! It is located in an area where they can get their hands on the best of the best!! Therefore, there's no excuse to serve up third rate ingredients or ingredients that should have been thrown out in the garbage... not served to the public! Not all of the servers have a bad attitude but the ones that do, make it a very unpleasant dining experience!! And to have one pull a fast one ... where they make a mistake in your order... where they give you a simple fried rice dish that is so dry... you need lots of fluids in order to swallow it!! Several of the meat dishes are floating in a bunch of oil... that is like an oil soup instead of a sauce... and a few fresh vegetables mixed with a bunch of old ones that should have been thrown out in the trash... Apparently they feel no shame to serve the public nasty, oily dishes at prices that I have paid to some if the finer restaurants in San Francisco or Beverly Hills that are well established and are renowned for the freshness and dishes executed by some of the most famous chefs in the world! I have put up with the bad behavior of the servers ... the multiple mistakes with my orders... where those dishes just so happened to be even more expensive than the dishes I ordered.. for the last time!! After so many years... I refuse to ever go back there and support a restaurant that doesn't deserve my money... time ... where I punish myself eating food of bad ... greasy quality!

Terrible service and they discriminated you not speaking Chinese. They would give the table to their regular/Chinese speaking customers without joining the waiting line. Even when you got a table, the waitress service was unbelievably rude. We saw this kind of "we don't care" services over and over again. So, we had enough and stopped coming. We live in Foster City and would not mind driving to Milbrae to have better dim sum there. Foodwise, i would give a two stars. It's nothing special but very pricey. It used to be better years ago. It went downstairs.

Good / potentially great authentic chinese food. They always forget to hold the egg in the fried rice upon request and have to remake but the food is delicious. The service is as to be expected, not so great. However, we don't go for the service, we go for the food!

It was all the right dishes but the quality was lacking a bit in my experience. The dishes were all average from the crab to fish to abalone. Think of it as food from Shenzhen vs Hong Kong. Disappointed :/

I wish I could say it's good here. The quality and service are a great let down. I doubt I'll be coming back. China Village in Belmont is better. Not by much but better. Why do I even try.

Had a terrible experience coming back after my family hadn't been in a long time, and we were so disappointed that all the dim sum we ordered was not fresh and the manager was not nice. Service was poor and no dishes were picked up before new dishes came to the table. It took about 15 minutes after sitting down to even get our tea/water. After having some of the food, I cancelled our soup because 1) it was taking longer than usual 2) the food quality was very poor, but the manager insisted that the soup could not be cancelled since it had already been made. I don't recommend this restaurant.

Good dim sum. Good customer service. Airy open enjoyed. Friends and I enjoyed our lunch there today. I do recommend it.

On the way to wash my hands, the rancid odor of stale urine is noticeable 50 feet from the washroom doors. There in the hallway, next to where they have their supplies against the wall, is a little table. A couple is seated there, not 10 feet from the bathroom. Unbelievable! Look, my brutha, you don't have to take that! Just because you are not Chinese, that does not mean that they can seat you there! I get it. Your girl dragged you here, and you are willing to put up with whatever discrimination because you like her. But don't let the restaurant put you next to the bathroom, in a hallway that is between 2 dining rooms. With an eye for detail, I notice that lamps are flickering next to out of order fixtures. There is a room deodorizer sprayer, which should be mounted 6" down from the ceiling, mounted 6' from the ground so that the chemical is spraying into your face. Renovation work is sloppy with poor fit & finish. It doesn't matter when you hire an unlicensed contractor to remodel your bathroom, if your staff does not clean it. The carpets and upholstery are stained black from lack of maintenance. Chairs are actually wobbly and will break from a heavier guest sitting down. Look down, and you will see food scraps on the floor; as if table bussers simply sweep the table top onto the floor. It goes downhill. They seat me at a dirty table. The tables have tablecloth. The dishes were cleared from the previous diners. But they didn't change the tablecloth, which has stains and remnants of the last meal served, "What? It's okay. No problem." The waitress actually became hostile and confrontational when I asked for a clean table. Really? The hostess really thinks it's okay not to change the tablecloth? She actually believes, as if it were a management directive, to seat guest at a dirty table? Who is in charge of this operation? Do the owners have any pride in how their establishment is presented? Or have they grown complacent with the empire which they built from scratch? The profits collected over the years, which supported their extended families, bought homes, and paid for college tuitions have clouded their vision. They have lost their way. Management is by way of a balance sheet. Cut cost. Cut expenses. Increase the bottom line. Then pretend to be flabbergasted when the health department issues notice, or the Department of Industrial Relations is looking into your subminimum wage and unpaid overtime. Wars are won by soldiers, but lost by generals. Bad service is from top down. The only reason that the employees mistreat customers is because they know that there is no repercussion. Staff is so pissed at the owners, that they take it out on the customers. There is no management here. The owner only shows up to collect cash from the register. It doesn't matter that the place is run down, dirty, smells like urine, and the service staff is abusing patrons. I left. No point in staying. You're only going to be served soup with a fly in it when waitresses are openly cursing you in front of everyone. I get it. You look down your nose at me, then act shocked and surprised when I get up to leave. Then actually profusely apologize with, "Sorry, I did not know you speak Chinese. Are you half?" They should have apologized to the brutha with the Asian girl that they seated in front of the filthy bathroom. I haven't seen blatant discrimination like that since before the Civil Rights Movement.

This review should be more like 3.5 stars but I'll give them the extra .5 due to the cleanliness of the restaurant. I came here for lunch - had their $13 business lunch special, includes 1-app, 2-types of entree, 1-bowl of soup, 1-dessert. As many of you know I'm a Chinese food connoisseur, this is your typical Hong Kong style, dim-sum, restaurant. Great flavors, waiters in traditional black suits with bow tie, price a little on the high-side.

Usually I think that dim sum places have bad reviews because of the service and I'm fine with that as long as the food is good. Unfortunately both the food and service were lacking. We marked our orders on the menu and the staff did not confirm our choices. This led to messed up orders or missing items. The selection of dim sum is rather limited in my opinion and I can't recall a particular dish that stood out to me. Everything was average at best.

I used to work here in FC and my coworkers and I would always go here at least every couple of months only since it is a little pricey lol! Couple tof times, with family so I have eaten here a few times. It still doesnt disappoint though sometimes when they"re really too busy, it's a little loud but its okay. Also, I love that their restroom is really clean. I"d say, one of the Best Dim Sum in the area. From their appetizer to dessert, everything is excellent. Fast service too. Make sure to call for reservarion on Sundays and Saturdays since they are always full-packed. Great/friendly staff. Parking space is huge so it is really convenient to find one. Pricey but worth it...

This place has yummy and satisfying dim sum! Everything we ordered was cooked well. Our server was nice and accommodating to our large party. The only thing we thought was strange was that we were the first ones there and the food took quite some time to get out. I really enjoyed that they had some unique items that are suitable for vegetarians which most dim sum places lack. Interesting items they have are chicken and bitter melon rice rolls and vegetarian shiu mai which is a win in my book! My family likes the soybean (dou hua) that they have here. Though I'm not crazy about it. As for sweets, I particularly enjoyed the brown sugar steamed cake and the crystal buns with taro. They also added a salted egg yolk inside the latter. Not a lot of places make it and I find them tastier than pineapple buns. The tin foil chicken was very flavorful and tender. Really enjoyed the dim sum food here and I will definitely be back!
