The red curry and tom ka soup both had delicious and well rounded flavor! The pad Thai was good. The green curry was one note and sub par compared to most places.

Delicious food! Especially loved the royal pad Thai. However, service was very slow and the restaurant seemed to be understaffed

I heard the food was good and was really looking forward to it, but when we got there—a group of moms with babies—they refused to adjust the seating for us even though the place was empty. It felt like we were being discriminated against. The service was really disappointing.

I’m extremely disappointed by the discriminatory attitude we experienced at this restaurant. As a mom with a stroller, I’ve never been treated this poorly in the Bay Area. The staff refused to help us make space for strollers, showing zero effort or empathy—something that felt clearly discriminatory toward parents and families with young children.

A staff member who called herself “Gam” told us they couldn’t accommodate us outside because it would be “fully packed at noon,” even though the entire outdoor area was completely empty at 11:30am on a weekday. Her attitude came across as dismissive and unnecessarily proud of denying basic accommodation.

Given the higher prices here, I expected much better service and basic respect. Unfortunately, the staff seemed untrained and unwelcoming. The food itself was average at best—not worth the cost.

We ended up going next door to TOAST IN TOWN, which was busy but welcoming. Despite being fully packed, their staff went out of their way to help us, the food was great, and the prices were more reasonable. A world of difference in how customers are treated.

I will not be returning, and I hope management takes this feedback seriously.

6 people and here are the things we ordered and I highly recommend!

Chicken satay
2 Chicken wings (the sauce is good)
Royal pad thai
Thai fried rice
Pineapple fried rice
Tom yum soup (mixed of spicy and sweetness)
2 Mango sticky rice
Panang curry with beef (few meat a lot of sauce)
2 Thai iced tea

We’re so full and satisfied. They serve fast and waiting is not bad around 12nn. We waited for 20mins. The ambience is nice and the bathroom is clean.

The food was good but it was surprising that they do not provide utensils or rice with any curry or wok dishes. You have to buy them separately…it is an annoyance as all other Asian restaurants automatically give it with the entrees. Would not recommend.

Solid Thai food spot in Foster City. The food is good, service is solid, and the vibes are on point. It's really more of a 4.25 spot but rounding up due to friendly service.

They have a somewhat extensive Thai menu with your typical options as well as some others you may not encounter at your typical Thai spot; sadly not extensive enough if you are looking for real hidden gems that you may be reminiscing about from Thailand. It's mostly authentic though some of the dishes can be a bit bland. Overall it's pretty solid.

The area is nice and clean and their patio is lovely. The vibe is usually on point, pretty casual and positive.

The service has always been good and attentive, even when it was packed. They've honored our special requests as well.

Overall, if you are looking for a good Thai spot for lunch, you can't go wrong with Chuan Chim Thai Cuisine.

My daughter has been a regular takeout customer at this restaurant for the past two weeks, but unfortunately, we’ve had multiple uncomfortable experiences with certain staff members. On several occasions, they’ve used aggressive and shady tactics to pressure her into leaving a tip during pickup—despite it being a simple takeout order with no table service.

Tipping should always be voluntary, not something forced through guilt or intimidation. This behavior is unprofessional, unethical, and frankly unacceptable. No customer should feel harassed for simply picking up their food.

I’m sharing this publicly because I believe transparency helps businesses improve. The food itself is good, but the staff’s conduct needs immediate attention from management. I hope the owner addresses this issue to ensure a respectful experience for all customers.

The quantity was pretty low. We asked for little peanut sauce to go and were charged $6 for it surprisingly.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. My only complaint is that the curry dishes don't come with sticky rice (which I can't get enough of), but that's a small price to pay for how good the food is. I've dined in and gotten take out dozens of times, and it's consistently delicious.

So incredibly delicious!! We ordered way too much food, but it was all so yummy. The pad Thai and the pad see you were so good, and the eggplant pork was amazing. The pumpkin red curry was to die for, and so was the fishcake, larb salad, and massaman beef curry. Plenty of seating inside and outside, cute interior and really kind employees! So hospitable and comfortable inside. Really short wait too, absolutely wonderful!

Chuan Chim is our go to spot for work lunch. We go so often, I wonder if the servers recognize us yet. We usually get the fresh spring rolls and fried tofu for appetizers (good for gluten-free). For entrees, the favorites are pad see yu with beef, pad thai, pineapple fried rice. My favorite is the fried chicken in the pineapple (see picture) with side of coconut rice. I've also had it with tofu instead. Presentation of the plates are instagram-worthy. Food always come out fast and hot. Service is friendly, depending on the server. Atmosphere is cozy and humming with people enjoying their food and conversation. During the sunny warm days, it's so much nicer eating outdoors. Note: if you're a party of 5+, a 20% gratuity is automatically added (not so cool). Otherwise, great place to eat in Foster City.
