I had walked in for a late lunch at 2 pm (I was craving chile bhature). The restaurant was empty except for one table seated with 4, and it seemed they were waiting for service, had just arrived prior to me perhaps. There was someone ordering at the counter there ahead of me, just samosas. After he paid, the host walked away without acknowledging me and started bussing tables. I waited for several minutes but he didn't return and didn't acknowledge me and there was no one else in line - and as the restaurant was empty there were plenty of available tables should another party walk in so I was surprised I was being ignored. Was it because I was a woman (and Indian)? I hate to say it but Indian women are overlooked/ignored all the time - I didn't expect it to happen to me in a restaurant in Silicon Valley. I ended up leaving and eating at the Thai restaurant across the street.I won't be coming back here ever again.

Very good! Ambience is on the sparse site - think: train station waiting hall - but owner and waiters are all very friendly. Main attraction here is the food: a very nice selection of different Indian specialities - not only the usual items. Over time, I have tried pretty much all vegetarian and seafood items, and only very few I wouldn't order again, and those more because of personal preferences.I'd recommend the Chicken Hakka noodles (main reason my younger son loves the place), the Aleppy fish, the pepper shrimp, the Spring Dosa... but pretty much everything is good.I had brought some Indian colleagues to double-check my experiences, and they had only small quips, which is a big compliment.

Unimpressed with the takeout experience from this restaurant. The food quality has noticeably declined, and the portions were only 3/4th of the box, leaving me wanting more. The naan, usually a highlight, resembled cardboard, lacking its usual freshness even in a takeout setting. The gobi manchurian, disappointingly sweet and tasteless, didn't meet expectations.

We ordered chilli chicken and chicken dum biryani. The chicken was very bad in chilli chicken and taste was also bad. Just was sauted in some sauce probably. The biryani was also not good.

First time coming to this restaurant and really liked the Andhra karam dosa and chole bhature. Liked the service and ambience...They can definitely improve in the chaat department but. , will have to try more options to form an opinion in the chaats section.

Found this randomly one day while searching for Indian Chinese and since then have been back a few times.Their North Indian curries (methi paneer) are delicious and very flavorful. One of the few places that gives rice with curry order. It’s a bit out of the way for me so can’t come back too often but do make a point to pick it up when I’m in the area.Only concern is I wish the prices were just a bit better. It’s not outrageous but a couple dollars lower and this could be a staple.

I had the Mysore Masala Dosa. The dosa was decent but the chutney is too watery and did not taste good. It would be great if the the portion of chutney is increased, given the dosa size. I think the guy working there did not ensure the portion size right.

This place is a very very solid 4. This place hs a large breadth of indian foods - from Indo-Chinese to northern curries to southern idily and uttpam. The chicken tikka was so big! There wasn't as much chicken as I expected but I apprexiate the bellpepper and onion (I'm guessing from the chicken tikka skewer). The rice was nothing to write home about, almost felt a little bland and softer (but not in a good way) from other places. The garlic naan was suuuper thin but wow, the flavor was great. They ran out of pani puri (a shame given the proximity of the indian grocery store!) otherwise I would have gotten that too. Probably better they didn't have it though, cause I only made it halfway thru the curry. The inside ambiance was alright. It was clean. Felt very fast casual. The staff was nice even though I was a little confused if you had to go up to pay or if they brought it to you.

Mirchi Indian KitchenA decent Indian restaurant, food was great and the service was good. It was very empty when I went during the week. I wouldn't say it was an amazing experience but a nice place if you are craving Indian cuisine. The portions were perfect for the price.

I must say this place for some reason is underrated. Food is amazing, I have ordered paneer tikka, dosa, biryani, chicken curry, etc etc all have been really top notch. I think one of the best options in San Mateo county

Went to this place with high hopes but unfortunately it did not deliver. The food and service both need work. For a place that has $$$ prices of dishes and gratuity included bill this place surely needs some major redo.
