Atmosphere is really a preference - I prefer quieter, so for the 20s-40s this is your go to place for sure.. haha I'm over 60 so a little loud for me but it is a great place

Their coffee could be stronger tasting. The taste of the coffee is drowned by the flavors g they put in the drink.

Its a Cute little cafe in the middle of city. We had brunch here and ordered avocado egg toast with waffles. Loved the coffee variety and taste . Service was fast and friendly,overall place has a nice chill relaxing vibe with good music and food!!

Stopped here for a late breakfast on a weekday to try it out. The service was disjointed during the ordering process, they seemed understaffed maybe it was just that day.

The food was so so for the price point, nothing we ate was a standout although the coffee was very good. Both the womelette and the waffle could have used more cook time. I expected a slight crispness to the womelette, but that wasn’t the experience. The waffle was slightly underdone inside and also could have been crisper.

Great coffee! Love the ‘Greek’ mocha the best, tastes like hot chocolate! I believe they are the first to offer waffle breakfast with eggs and other fixing all together, it’s so good! 😊 lots of tea options too and very creative. It’s run by a Greek family and everyone working at the store is very friendly and helpful! If you are in the mood for a great sandwich, go around the corner and visit Sandwich Monkey, dame owner and one of the best sandwiches shop I’ve been to! Not in Foster city? No worry, there is one in downtown San Francisco and recently opened ine in San Mateo! You definitely have to visit!!

Super clean and easy to get to. I was meeting an old friend here, which happened to be our halfway point, and found it to be the perfect place to grab a tea/coffee, a pastry, and catch up for a couple of hours. Although they didn't have a decaf iced coffee like I was hoping for, they did find me a beautiful aromatic fruity tea to pour over ice. Very nice staff and helpful. I'd come back again for a simple drink. They had some Greek treats that I was interested in, but didn't have the appetite for, unfortunately. Hopefully next time.

Penelope’s is a wonderful coffee shop! I love the cozy and relaxing atmosphere. Their coffee is sooooo good and their service is even better! Everything is made from scratch by the owner and her daughter. My favorite coffee is the lavender iced coffee and food is Natasha’s seasonal rendition of zuppa toscana!

🍽️ Food Expectations:
I visited Penelope's Coffee and Tea for food, and based on the online reviews and pictures, I had higher expectations than what was delivered. The food was generally okay, but didn't stand out as much as I'd hoped.

🥔 Hash Browns Highlight:
A definite positive was the hash brown side dish. It was genuinely good and, surprisingly, felt like it was fairly priced compared to other menu items.

💰 Pricing:
Overall, I found the food to be on the costlier side, which, without a more exceptional culinary experience, made the value feel a bit off.

🛎️ Service:
The service was not particularly memorable. It was neither overtly bad nor remarkably good, just a standard, unremarkable interaction.

🌳 Ambiance & Seating:
The cafe offers plenty of seating, which is a plus. Its location across from a park within an apartment complex gives it a relatively nice and pleasant setting.

🤔 Overall Impression:
While the hash browns were a win and the location is agreeable, my experience didn't quite meet the higher expectations set by its online presence. The combination of slightly high prices and unremarkable service means I likely won't be returning, despite the generally decent experience.

Where else can you get a waffle and an omelet in one?? A panini or Avocado toast, so divine! Then, of course, the many options for coffee and tea lovers! I get so excited, I can't think or read when I get there. I try to view the menu beforehand; it's less overwhelming and I'm happier with my choice that day. The staff are friendly, the food is great and the coffee and tea is so good I've gone back multiple times a day when visiting.
