*Hidden Gem* in Foster City! Want an unpretentious coffee house with good food, coffee selection, WIFI, relaxed ambiance, and both indoor and outdoor seating? Look no further than Poppie's Bistro! Hidden on a back alley around the corner from the much more crowded Starbucks, this neighborhood gem is a great find for locals looking to hang out but not fight the crowds to do so. The food is also very good...a fave is the roast beef sammie (w/garlic greens!)...but other choices include flatbreads or even Taco Salad! The staff is awesome and friendly. If you want a mid aftn snack on a sunny day, they also have Its It ice cream sandos! I love making this place my office when I am home and need a break...or anytime I want to have a break!

Great staff and great food! Try the boar's head roast beef panini! Will definitely try the salad next time. My mom loved it. The kombucha and cold brew on tap is a nice touch

Poppies is a real hidden gem in Foster City. Gourmet quality cafe/lunch drinks and food at reasonable prices! The fresh California cuisine cafe is tucked away in an alley (Thayer) near the library and city hall. It is considerably better than the more prominently located cafes and restaurants nearby and worth checking out! It's a great place to eat lunch, grab coffee, or work (good free wifi). The roast beef sandwich is amazing.

The people who work here are so great. I walked in with a friend to check it out. They offered us some kombucha to try (delish!) and some cauliflower pizza as they were testing out a new recipe. We didn't eat here as we were just passing by but I will definitely patronize this restaurant just because they were so generous. Give them a try!!

Nice coffee and breakfast place in Foster City. Kind of hidden away, it's around the corner from Mumu Hot Pot. Clean and spacious with friendly staff. Went there with some friends to catch up and they were extremely accommodating, didn't rush us at all. Told us they will be adding new items to the menu very soon. Give them a try.....always nice to support local businesses. We will be back !

Cafe was clean and the staff was friendly. Drinks (cappucino and mocha) were a bit watery. Avocado toast was just okay.

We came here for a post workout energy refills. The ordering process was easy and straight forwards. We had the salmon and avocado toast + cappuccino; sweet potato and Iced Americano. I like how both dishes were light yet fulfilling. Very fresh ingredients with great nutritional values. I like my salad to be extra vinegary. Since I don't know what goes well with the tahini sauce, the guy behinds the counter offered both red wine vinegar and Balsamic vinegar. I prefer mine with the red wine vinegar along with the tahini sauce, but it's your salad, you do whatever you gotta do. The service was also the highlight of our visit. One guy accidentally made the wrong order for our drinks. The general manager, Jeff, immediately said "don't worry, we'll make them right for you". And the team did. He also greeted us before we left to make sure we are satisfied with our meals. I can tell how much they care about their business and customers, and we absolutely appreciate it. Overall, we are very happy with our visit and will definitely come back to try other dishes, too.

Cute new cafe with a fantastic fig flatbread. I loved how the flavors came together. The fig reduction had a great tartness and the prosciutto contributed strong wild-game flavor. They are very generous on cheese as well. Unfortunately their espresso machine was not working.

Delicious roast beef sandwich and salmon toast. The location is a little hidden but right around the corner of mumu hotpot. It's a nice and cute cafe with yummy food.

Go. You won't be disappointed. And Jose is an enthusiastic delight. We only had one item (plus great coffee) and I will update when we go back. But I am confident that Jose will ensure you have a great experience. The salmon-avocado toast was a pleasure. And, split, enough for two with modest morning appetites. Salmon was fresh, the eggs perfect, the avo good, and the toasted leviathan bread a great foundation. More soon, I hope!

Nice cafe tucked away in Foster City behind the govt offices. Quiet on a Saturday morning when so many places are filled to overflowing. Food was good. Coffee was meh, made from an auto machine. My ordinary menu order was announced as being outside the capability of the machine and was comped by the staff which I thought was a nice gesture. Still avocado toast, lox and bagel and 2 coffees (if both were charged) would have been almost $30 which seems a little bit steep. *Edit* forgot to mention the staff which was friendly and efficient and as noted comped my coffee.

What a little gem! This cafe is super hidden and you would totally not know that it was there unless you were curious and decided to walk all the way back into the area that is currently under construction. I love that they use local and fresh ingredients in everything that they serve. I got the roast beef sandwich and wow! I was super surprised at how gourmet and tasty it was. They used acme bread, boars head roast beef, melted cheese, mayo, and it was topped off with fresh cilantro and tons of diced garlic (good think I didn't have any meetings later that day ;)). I got the sandwich without the dijonnaise since I don't like mustard and it was still super tasty. The sandwich was pretty big and I definitely could have saved half of it for dinner, but ended up devouring the whole thing. Super friendly staff and service was quick. I would definitely recommend Poppies Bistro for a quick lunch stop!

I have picked this hidden gem cafe for a business meeting with a vendor. Came on Tue at 1:30p, super quite. I have ordered only fig apple feta cheese flatbread with their Royal Iced tea over the counter. The flatbread is super delicious, crunchy, sweet and savors blend into one. Services is decent; quite a fast in getting out the food orders. No problem. Next time I would come back bringing my family for a nice quick lunch.
